So while I may have had it, if I'm not getting sick now, I can only assume it's the trusty gaiter. (I try to keep distance, but it's getting difficult as things are opening up and people becoming lax.)
However, the gaiter has only been washed maybe 4 or 5 times since last summer, so the natural oils and whatever other fiber congealing agents exit my mouth regularly might be making that filthy old gaiter into a near impermeable wall.

You should look up the word “asymptomatic.”

Trump, in a strategy move that might go down as the dumbest in history, decided that rather than get on the side of mask-wearing and then flood the country with red MAGA and TRUMP 2020 masks, which would have helped his campaign immeasurably and probably gotten him re-elected, he would "keep it real" and take the position that Patriots Don't Need No Masks.
His moron army simply followed. That's how it goes.
Trump said something? Well, there are only two available reactions: (1) Follow it blindly; (2) Resist it blindly.

Out of curiosity, did you think about getting an antibody test last fall?

I saw this somewhere:
Q. What do you call it when someone doesn't know the difference between (1) Scared and (2) Not retarded?
A. Retarded.

If you had it, and tested positive, I always thought 'What's the point?" unless you're donating plasma.
Just act as if you can get it again.
Why I wear seatbelts even though my car has airbags.

I’m not sure only Trumpers avoid masks. Plenty D voters round here avoid them.

I had a case in Minneapolis a few years back. I schedule the first dep in Fargo in September. Pleasant city. It was a third part dep, with a ND witness represented by Minneapolis counsel. My opposing was from Boston, meaning he, and me, know cold like you do.
At a break I hear witness and his attorney talking about a trial from a few years before- they say every morning of trial it was -40 F. I pulled opposing aside, “you hear that? We need to get all discovery done now. We don’t wanna be up here in Jan/Feb.” but he didn’t cooperate. Running at 0. Yes, fun!
I liked the city, but happy to visit.

I think the core of it is an oppositional instinct, and I think Sebby's answer that it's all about what Trump said completely misses the point. Trump has fantastic instincts for what his base wants, and he said what he said because he knew how they felt, which was anti-mask.
But much as they like to trigger and pwn the libs, most conservatives don't like to come out and say that they are oppositional.

When I get someone in PHV, I create my own certificate for each admittee, including calligraphy text reading “It was an honor to admit you. Practice in peace.” In Latin. I also include on the certificate a small pencil drawing of a Fisher Cat. Because those things are bad ass.
