That just tells you there are too many teams in the basketball tourney.
There are always debates--it's just a lot harder to complain about it if you're 9-2 and angry that a 10-2 team from a weaker conference made it instead of you.
But the debate is irrelevant--the bowls make too much money to let anything change. The NCAA isn't willing to pay them enough of the playoff juice to get them to go away, or host instead only a quarterfinal or semifinal matchup in mid-December. |
