I remembered this differently and, with after refreshing my recollection, found that you have bought into a GOP talking point. See: http://mediamatters.org/items/200507140001 .
FWIW, the site you cite is trying to desperately to debunk yesterday's NYT story of the scum who spit "at" Cpl. Sparling.

Oddly enough, that media account matters, but CBS using Al-Queda as an unnamed source is not.

That's not what the story said. You should know, since I pointed out that you had it wrong and provided a quote, but, well, there you go again.

This is the conservative movement's debt to Ronald Reagan, right? Who need facts if you can convince yourself of more ideologically pleasing truths?

HRC is surely not always warm and fuzzy -- and her political instincts were rudimentary in 1992-94. That said, I have seen no signs that she is sanctimonious, and I submit that no sanctimonious woman could possibly have: (1) married a young Bill Clinton in the 1970s, and (2) stayed married to him for 30+ years.

I like and respect her, and I honestly have never understood why she was so widely disliked. (Aside from those who disapprove of her decisions not to jettison Bill. I understand those opinions, though I don't reach the same conclusion.)

I venture to say that the passage of time and her repeated public humiliations on a personal level by WJC have combined with her hard work in the Senate to soften her image quite a bit.

If someone spits in your direction, misses and the saliva hits the ground, I am spitting "at" you.

Why you continue to dodge, weave and continue to defend these animals is beyond me. And above you.

And this makes the RNC talking points accurate how?

I don't normally respond twice to the same post, but this one seemed to warrant it......when you say Hillary is not sanctimonious, I ask have you ever seen the January 27, 1998 interview with Matt Lauer?

I think the liberals like her because the conservatives hate her so much. But in any case, she seems to be the only Democrat able to stradle the liberals, the independents and Republican women.

Only Giuilian and McCain will be able to pull back the independents and the moderate Republican women.

Personally, when it comes to President Hillary, I'm torn between the fear of losing my violent video games and the thrill of watching Penske and Slave implode.

Who might, on average, be a bit sympathetic to the image of a strong, effective female political leader besieged by a largely white male hate machine. (More sympathetic in 2007 than in 1993). Also, see my post above re the effect of Bill.

If someone spits at the ground near you, they're spitting at the ground near you. If they spit at you and miss, they're spitting at you. If you're privy to some wonderful psychic power combining ESP and visions from great distances that empowers you to know what happened at the Mall on Saturday, do tell. But don't misrepresent what the NYT actually said. That's beneath you.

The protester who spat first should have kept his mouth shut. (I don't care if you're Roberto Alomar -- not cool.) The counter-protesting veteran should have done likewise. And you should stop trying so hard to twist reality into a Vietnam-derived wet dream about hippies disrespecting protesters. As you read in the NYT, most of the veterans who were at the Mall were protesting the war.

How close does it have to be? Is intent part of the equation? How about likelihood of contact of saliva with person given the distance between the spitter and the spat upon?

Seriously, tho, in any circumstance where a stranger spits at another because the object of the spitting belongs to a group or makes a speech the spitter disapproves of is inappropriate and disgusting. And it's assault. Somehow, tho, I doubt that Slave would have objected had Cpl Sparling launched the first loogie.

Laugh while you can monkeyboy, you will be crying all the way from the bank when top marginal tax rates go to 90%.
