On the "looks filter" in the brains of women

Then again, I think Lance Henriksen is totally hot, so TIFWIW.
BR(also note - money often brings better clothing and/or stylists, and those factor into even fairly objective evaluations of whether someone is good looking or not. The Donald in a $6K suit is a mighty-sight more fine looking than the Donald in khakis and a flannel shirt, objectively speaking)C

I think cash often has a lot more to do with a Man's perceived hotness than a Woman's. Lot's of women look great in rags; hell, there's a real attractiveness in a cute woman in grubby overalls.
I think the reason is that cash plays a bigger role in the traditional male job description than in the traditional female job description.
Same thing with age, but on the other side - Men have an easier time being older, because we have been socialized to want woman to be young and childbearing while Men are the older providers.
For the record, all of this is Not Good (which was Not Me's given named before em changed it).
(Note to Not Good, please address any responses you may have to TM, as I, like most here, only read your posts when quoted by TM).

It might have something to do with the idea that a cute young woman, seeing a rich older man, has been conditioned by our societal conventions to see that cash as possibly being available to her, while a cute young man looking at a rich older woman has no such expectation, and in fact has been conditioned by his upbringing to feel shame at the idea of being supported by that older woman.
Not to say there aren't exceptions to this, but I'm speaking of the norm . . .

Where is she, anyway? A friend had a boyband question (does whichever boyband Justin Timberlake is/was in still exist; question prompted by something on CNN about his solo stuff).

She won't see this post when she returns and does a vanity search for her name...*
N*Snyc is "on hiatus" in the str8 lingo. Meaning they may or may not ever get back together again. Bets are that they will get back together at some point when everyone except JT runs out of money. They will probably do reunion tours, etc. and the hook that will get JT on board will be that he gets more of the pie than everyone else does.
The only other N*Sync'er who has done anything of note during the hiatus is Lance Bass, who tried to pay his way into the Russian space program. Apparently boatloads of US cash is not enough to make one a cosmonaut.
*not that I think she does this necessarily. but she might. I can't do this b/c ncs does not work with the search engine (only 3 letters), thus forcing me to sift through inane conversations for any reference to my call letters.

Cash in a woman's bank account will often knock a woman down a looks category in a man's eye. So will a superior education level than the man has. This is because men feel emasculated by women who have more power (and money=power in this society) or education than they do.

It is more than just socialization; it is biological, too. However, just because something is biological doesn't mean you have to act on your animalistic urges. Civilized and evolved human beings are more than just the sum total of their biological urges.

Is there a way to train the cute young people to do this without making them drool? Because I'm thinking that it would undercut the cute looks.

Actually, there was a large study a year or two ago (which was posted and discussed, I think, on the FL board ad nauseum) demonstrating that this is actually not the case. Men are, as a rule, totally willing to date "up," but women are unwilling to date "down." Therefore, the lack of available men experienced by over-educated, high-status women is largely a phenomenon of female selection, not male intimidation, though it might seem intuitive that it works both ways.
That may be a different point than the specific "looks category" issue, but I don't think it is different in effect.

Previously, Patrick Swayze was the chickiest man associated with pottery.
Jesus, Bette Midler's dressing horribly these days.

No, not weird, especially since the slur is derived from the relative commonality of the name Michael among Irishmen.

Are you nuts? I finally have some money, and you want them to stop drooling now? Thanks, but we so seldom get drooled at, and it's good for the ego.
("I'm great in bed because I have such a huge, throbbing . . . ." is a fun statement, even though it ends with the word "wallet".)

Things I need. PAGING FRENCHY
1) Why aren't you using the Lipton avatar I so kindly picked out for you?
2) I admittedly posted about this before catching up to see it discussed, so fuck me.
3) When trying to order my very favorite pinot filled dark chocoltes and merlot filled milk chocolates, I was told by the wineery in Sonoma that they dont like t o ship em, bc, get this, CHOCOLATE MELTS. Espocially chocolate from Texas.
so why don't you buy a brain from Pat Sajak? Thanks for playing.
