Actually, that was one of my favorite episodes so far. It ended with a truly happy (!) moment between Claire and her mother.
The weird dinner party was a birthday party that Lisa threw for Ruth. I love the portrayal of the relationship between Keith and David, with all its warts and little triumphs. It seems like they're both trying to make it work, and it seems a little less one-sided than it has in the past.
The dead person on that episode was a gay man who had been with his partner for 22 years. The partner gave a eulogy that included a line that was really touching -- something like, "it wasn't always easy, and it wasn't always fun, but it was always worth it." (It sounds much more trite when taken out of context.)
It's amazing to me how a show about funeral directors can so consistently avoid being overly maudlin and depressing. (Not that it's not without it's depressing moments.) Overall, I think it's a fantastic show.

You'll have company. Funny stuff. I would say I am probably in the same general vicinity with regard to compliance. A couple of points, though.
With regard to bearing false witness, the priest spoke on this very subject on Sunday (I went for a change - - doh!). According to him, bearing false witness is not expanded to lying. Little white lies are ok -- nay, they are necessary social lubricant.
(I must admit, though, I'm not sure if that's the official RCC position on the subject). To those who object to the RCC, YMMV.
Question: Is the guy at SD's gym going to hell because he coveted his neighbor's ass? :mr:

So, Julianne gives her a peck on the lips (why, Julianne, why?), and Baba's reply is something like, "Well, that wasn't very long..." (Julianne should have said, "well, lady, that's all you're gettin'...")
Baba has truly gone off the deep end!
[Glancing brush with fame: Julianne Moore used to live in my building! I hear they showed her apartment on the interview last night -- needless to say, she no longer lives in my building....]

That kiss was really weird! If I was JM, I wouldn't have wanted to kiss that old bag at all.
FWIW, all of the stahs were interviewed in their homes. JM's was a pretty typical looking loft (NTTAWWT) -- lots of light, open space, wood floors, stainless appliances and earth-tone cushions -- clean and spare yet warm look.

How do you know?
<Leagl,
Here's a question. A few weeks ago I'm at a bar with some work acquaintances. The group is discussing a person at work who no one likes. A clearly gay friend of a coworker asks me why no one likes this person who's being discussed. I, not thinking at all, say "He's a cocksucker". I assume that comment is not offensive, but being overly analytical when bored, I wonder... Is it rude to use a slang word for a gay male sex act as an insult in the presence of gay dudes? I guess you could make the case that "cocksucker" is also offensive to straight women.
S(These are the thoughts that keep me from partnership)D >
Now that is an interesting question. I am not sure of the answer. But my answer would be it depends on how you say it and how you mean it. If you meant people didn't like him because he was gay (and therefore one assumes in every state but Texas where they like gay people just fine but not what they do, that he sucks cocks) that would be offensive on another level.
But I know that isn't what you meant. I don't hear too many of my gay male friends use the term cocksucker as an insult that I can recall, but I am not sure I have listened for it. I'll have to keep my ears open.
I'm not sure that they would take it with any greater offense as long as it was clear you weren't saying it because he is gay. Depends on the guy I suppose.

I think that first of all, using the word "cocksucker" is probably rude in and of itself, regardless of the sexual composition of the audience. At the very least, it's crude and should be used amongst those people with whom you feel the most comfortable.
Like most offensive stuff, it depends on the sensitivity of the person you were talking to. My gay brother could care less about the word cocksucker, which is good because it's heavily used in my profanity rotation. Of course, my brother also knows that a good 50 percent of my friends are gay, and I assume that he knows that I myself have sucked cock, though it's never been soemthing that we've discussed.
So long answer short, it depends.

Well, I can't help you with the other ones, but I think you're in the clear on this one. I believe you have to be married to commit adultery. You may have "aided and abetted" an adulterer, but you didn't do it yourself.
(Unless you're married, in which case, yes, you'll burn in hell. ![Wink](http://www.lawtalkers.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif) )

This established my point about whats great about the ignore funtion. That is allows you to customize your universe. I dont like AdL's unfunny graphics? Poof! Gone. Self Employed Fluffer is a one trick anitpaigow pony? Adios. WIth ignore, I only converse with and observe who I want to. ANd conversely,. those who dont want to converse or observe me dont have to. So they are out of my universe as well. No having to worry , gee, does she really hate me but is talking to me anyeay (not that I am really paranod). Ignore allows me to skip that nonsense. I am now in a world where everyone is paigowapproved And I am approved by those who choose to be in my world. Fabulous.
Now, I am gonna run a little personal contest for the slot number three onmy ignore list. JustForFUn is looking like the Ruben of this contest, but I am keeping my eyes peeled for anyone who is utterly self centerd, trolling for compliments, just trolling in general, or who takes up a lot of space but says nothing witty, funny, insightful or overall entertaining.
As you were

Paigow,
I gotta disagree. I thought AdL and MR's graphics yesterday were pretty fucking funny. Sure, it can get old and cheap quickly, but some of them had me snickering like an idiot. Call me a dumb audience if you like, but the one of the guy with his head stuck in the box and the one of Samuel L. Jackson were killer...
The dude who sang "celebration" last nite on AI was awful. I think AI sucks after the first few rounds. I want to see the freaks again. Now, its almost as dull as its motion picture namesake, Spielberg's atrocious "I can channel the ghost of Kubrick" piece of shit, AI. If you want to see Jude Law really act, try Road to Perdition.
As to the ignore function, I am using it on myself. I have enough onanistic tendencies the way it is...

RT,
Its too cheap a joke to suggest that you and your brother should discuss technique. That could be a very touching family moment.
S(you gotta admit, there can be no better source of advice on sucking cock than a gay male... If my sister was lesbian, well... enough of that)D

Dumbass, this is from the site you just posted:
Dictionary Definition of Copacetic
Definition of Copacetic
co·pa·cet·ic or co·pa·set·ic (ko pe se tic) adj. Excellent; first-rate: You had to be a good judge of what a man was like, and the English was copacetic (John O'Hara). [Origin unknown.]

Damn, TM, haven't you been paying attention? What she was REALLY saying is that she PREFERS spelling it with a "C", not that spelling it with an "S" is wrong. She's just too lazy to type all that out.

By the way, does anyone watch Six Feet Under? I love that show. I just saw this week's episode last night. But before I go on about it, does anyone else share this love? (It's no American Idol, I realize, but it's a good show!!!)
|
It's pretty much the only show that I watch on a regular basis, especially now that the Sporanos are on haitus. Great writing, good acting.
