The prize clearly ought to be $25 worth of sun-shaped nipple rings.

I don't know - people just get rowdy when they're all drunk and hyped up. shit happens. Not that I approve, of course. It just tends to happen.

Super Bowl and SB Contest

On the Super Bowl:

I hope coaches will now realize that within the last 3 minutes, just scoring isn't good enough. You should also aim to score with as little time left on the clock as possible. NBA teams do a good job of this (2 for 1 situations, etc.). NFL teams do not. Why did the Panthers call a time out with 90 seconds left after the completion to Proehl on the 15 yard line. How many more plays are they planning on running from the 15? Dumb. They should have taken their freakin time.

On the Super Bowl contest:

Future contests like this (closest to final score) should have used lowest sum of squares method. It sounds complicated, but it really isn't.

(New England's actual points-Entry's guessed points for N.E) squared, + (Carolina's actual points-Entry's guessed points for Carolina) squared = Entry's score. Lowest sum of squares score wins.

saving me from myself

Thank you to lawtalkers for going down in the middle of a closing today. Very convenient not to have to play catch-up after a busy morning.

Resume.

it's been seven hours and fifteen days...

...since you took the board from me (or so it seems).

In the meantime, I've discovered that people are stupid.

Hank, I believe that I am mostly right and that most of the Board would tend to agree with me when I state that talking smack is not your strong suit.

Ouch.

And we know it's not playing or understand sports. It couldn't be brains. And I'm pretty sure it ain't your looks, either. And everyone knows it ain't humor. So what exactly do you add?

He is, however, compensating admirably with obstinance.

This is different, but over Christmas my sister was telling me that her daughter is good friends with two "Billgates" (all one word - first name) and that it is not unusual for kids where she is to be called Windows 98 or XP or Microsoft because it is considered good luck (mind you, that is in Africa (where I have been known to text message on occasion))

The only thing that surprised me about any of this is that today's Chicago Sun Times ran an unblurred photo of Janet with nipple (and of course, nipple ring) clearly visible. Of course, the Sun Times is basically a tabloid, but I still didn't expect to see an unedited version.

Thank you Sun Times.

I was distracted by the Lingerie Bowl. I don't think getting hit with the pads* those girls were wearing would feel very good against bare skin...

*don't go here. For the entire FB's sake.

You get so much slack from everyone here, and if nothing else I'm the only one left that calls you on that. Maybe I do a poor job, but I'm trying, man I'm trying.
And as to violins, your source of support, I have to tell you there aren't many people whose opinion would mean less to me.

Obviously don't have a lot of computers in Africa, otherwise there would be a lot MORE kids running around with the names Bluescreen, FatalError or CtrlAltDelete...

Tush Munch's contribution to the board is that his presence here makes the Democrats feel all warm and fuzzy about what a diverse crowd they cyber-hang out with. Meanwhile, if he were walking behind them on the street, these same people would be clutching their purses and have their cellphones ready to dial 911 if necessary. Of course they would never admit that here, though.
