Speaking of which, Bill Simmons says:
- How many comedians brought us more laughs over a 10-year span than Will Ferrell? Does Phil Hartman from 1986-1996 hold a candle to him? What about Eddie Murphy from 1982-1992? Mike Myers from 1989-1999? Chevy Chase from 1975-1985? He's in the All-Time Pantheon, right? I'm ranking him ahead of everyone but Eddie.
Is he on crack? Is Will Ferrell anywhere near as funny as Phil Hartman? I'm thinking no, but maybe I'm just not seeing it.

According to Hermoine (when she was trying to figure out how the reporter was getting all the scoops in the 4th book), electricity and electronics don't work at the school. Something about all of the magic concentrated in one location.

2. Phil Hartman beats Will Ferrell on his Simpsons bits alone. Throw in SNL etc., and Will's the one-legged guy in an ass-kicking contest.

Ok, so one of my hot* attorney friends
* for a lawyer that is.
changed firms. I know this because I just got a card in teh mail from her new firm with her photo on the cover wearing a hard hat and in a sleeveless top with the photo cropped just below her ample rack. Caption on front [ATTORNEY] then photo then [WEARING A NEW HAT]. and inside it announces that she's joining the firm's OSHA, MSHA and Catastrophe REsponse Practice Group.
Do you think the firm sends out personalized cards complete with photos for every new attorney or just the ones in construction-related areas and where the attorney is hot with a nice rack?
It's kinda like sending out a tool girl calendar I guess. I didn't know firms did this

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

Will Ferrell is nowhere near as funny as Phil Hartman. However, I think he's a more versatile actor.
And I meant David, not Phil, in my original post. David was not only an original host of Good Morning America, but is also described by imdb as a "Genial, toothsome actor and host." He is also a Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.

Fucktard, please. 1) Brian sounds pretty good these days; and 2) he hasn't toured with the Beach Boys for years. Pick on Mike Love all you want, but don't fuck with the genius.

Dude, that was the fastest board retirement ever. Show some respect. I think TaTa is the new SI Style, no pun.

Will Ferrell, [relatively] versatile actor? What are you, on crack?

We prefer to call it a failed merger rather than a retirement.

Also, there was no BlackBerry during most of Harry's time at Hogwarts. RIM didn't release the BlackBerry until 1998. The Harry Potter stories take place from 1991 through 1998. The reason Potter obsessives know this is because the "death day" party for Nearly Headless Nick in the second book celebrated the 500th anniversary of Nick's botched beheading. The execution took place in 1492. Therefore, the party, and Harry's second year at Hogwarts, occurred in 1992. The seventh book, if it follows the form of the first six, will span 1997-1998. Maybe a first generation BlackBerry will play a significant role in the defeat of the Dark Lord. We'll see.

I thought it was one of the better episodes ever.
Things I thought were well done:
- Brenda in the red car (was that the same car from the end of the season after she and Nate break up?)
Brenda sitting on the ground during the funeral
What a stand-up guy Keith is
George (I know -- George!?!) He was eminently likeable.
Brenda's isolation -- and her final admission of grief with her brother
Ruth's shock and devastation - her "zombification" was so believable and sad
David and Ruth washing Nate's body
That Patricia Clarkson, Frances Conroy and the girl who plays Claire look as though they could be related (this isn't new, but it really struck me last night)
Claire saying, "So all you guys win" when David rebukes her for her sartorial choice for the funeral
|
I thought it was great. A three hankie. And you forgot how Hot George looked last night. What up with the scenes from next week with Claire and her Pete Sampras laweyer friend?
Possible Spoiler:
Where was Lisa? If they dont bring her back I dont get the point of Nate dying.
Does Brenda have rights to Maya, assuming she didnt adopt her but only married Nate?
So, is Nate a narcissist who only wants a woman who can make him feel like he is a better man than he is, or is he really capable of love?

Aha! thank you. My nephew may be satisfied with this geeky explanation. This is the same nephew that debated me for about half an hour on who was more clever, Spiderman or Harry Potter. The geek force is strong in him.

Mike Myers is the only one on that list that Will Ferrell even holds a candle to.
