I do have one issue that I would like to bring up. Namely, I am fine with not being vitriolic and trying to get along but I don't want to feel like I can't say what I want or feel, or that I am constantly censoring myself for fear of incurring wrath.

What I post may not always be pleasing to people. If not, place me on ignore and continue on. The whole point of this board is it is a free thinking, outspoken, blunt forum for which people can share their thoughts and feelings. We censor enough at work, with the PC police, etc.

I'm with you on that. People say stupid and offensive things on this board all the time. I think I receive much more crap for it, but others disagree with that opinion. I get the huge pile ons, others receive spats or individual tiffs or fights.

You get what you perceive as pile-ons because you talk about what X posted in response to what you posted which was just a reference to what you posted before you posted the thing that you posted that set off X in the first place. So you contribute to your own pile-on. If you would stop talking about what you posted and how people reacted to it and how you counterreacted, you would get a lot less crap.

So, interestingly enough, if you were to stop digging so many holes, people would stop piling on to fill them in.
