Damn that Ralph's for closing! Damn them!!!!!
I noticed that the listing of walkable bars was woefully out of date. I did not really peruse the other categories.* It only listed 8 walkable bars for me. Not that I expected "the local" on there, but there are clearly more than 8 walkable bars. It is a travesty that a certain tequila bar isn't even listed there.

*Because they don't matter.

If you did not have a grocery store thisclose to where you live, you might care.

The local is on there under its current name and under its prior name, at 0.09 miles from my address. I think that is too high, no?

I get a 0. What the hell does that mean? The SAfeway is 1.85 miles from my house. Doesn't that count?

The lowest mileage on my list is 0.04. Then it jumps to 0.09. The mileages aren't accurate anyway, because it measures from my street frontage instead of the location of my apartment. So the mall is listed as closer than the grocery.

I think they think I would go all the way out the front door instead of just jumping out the window.

My apartment gets a 94 out of 100. Maybe that's why I walk in LA.
My place gets a 91, but I notice that they don't seem to know about the closest school or bookstore, so that should be higher.

eta: Toto, I don't think I'm in California anymore.

I think it caps out at 8 for each category. My address has 8 listed for every category, but still only 94, so I'm not sure what that means, other than maybe some of the 8 are further away than it might like in certain categories (I could go to a hardware shop over by fringey, apparently). And it doesn't seem to include the elementary school across the street from my apartment, so that's clearly an oversight. I had no idea that there were 8 libraries w/i walking distance, but I've never heard of most of them either.

69/100, but it would probably be lower if they were using a topo map and could see how hilly it is around here (there's no way to get from my house to anywhere without going both up and down very steep hills).

tm

ETA that, Portland being Portland, I still know of several neighbors who walk to all of those places, and I've been known to do it myself when a) I'm not hugely pregnant, b) I'm not in a huge hurry, and c) it's not pouring rain.

Fortunately that bridge is not on my route home -- I don't think Flower or ABBA goes home that way either but look forward to hearing from them.

This is bad.
