I am looking for the site where you can arrange to have Nickelback exported to Tasmania and subject to the same fate as the Tasmanian Devil.

They are absolutely the worst. I would almost rather hear We Built This City, except that when a Nickelback song comes on, there is simply so much about it to mock and criticize that it's as if a certain someone weren't being ignored.

My boyfriend djs from time to time, and for a lot of gigs, he uses iTunes to develop his playlists so he doesn't have to cart around all that much music for his gigs. He says that it's not a perfect solution, but it's better than having constantly to adjust volume from song to song to song.
Awesome, thanks. I'll check that out.

wait, do you like him because you are also a humanist, or is it a co-incidence that you like him and you are both humanists, or are you a humanist because of his writing?

It works to alleviate only minor differences in volume. I thought you had this problem despite soundcheck.

Or you could play nothing but Nickelback, whose music contains more compression than humanly possible.

Duh. You're talking about something like 24 posts with over 300 opportunities left to go. That's hardly an afternoon's work.

Thanks!

I negotiated a nice severance so I am going to bang on my drum all day (or, I guess, play my piano and lounge naked about my house) until it bores me and then I will find a new job. I have PLENTY of time until I need cold hard cash.

I may get married and have a baby. I may relapse and become a drunk again. I may travel to Bali and find myself. I may eat giant quantities of carbs. I may run another marathon. I may sleep 17 hours per day. I may run for public office. I may write a book.

I am really really really excited to see what happens.

Combine any and all of those except don't do both 1 and 2, OK? OK.

The internet poll told me I am a humanist. My like for Vonnegut began in high school, before I knew what humanism was.

Regardless, it's a great belief system if you want to act smug towards theistic religions, mainly due to this quote of Vonnegut:

"I am a humanist, which means, in part, that I have tried to behave decently without expectations of rewards or punishments after I am dead."

was this something he said to his family, in private, or are humanists looking for rewards while they're alive?
