Second, it would help for this one if you actually knew the cast of characters and their history with one another. There are some true bitches and assholes on this one.

No one dies, they have medics and stuff nearby. But one guy got burned pretty badly - if you're lucky, they'll show the replay.
I don't watch a lot of commercial TV. When I am watching hockey I guess I just blank when the whistle blows and they go to commercial. I didn't know it was coming on until it just popped up on the TV after the Super Bowl and there I was out of reach of the remote with a kitty in my lap (sickos), a beer in my hand and a dog too dumb to fetch the remote.

Yes, it might be helpful if I knew who any of these assholes were.

Burned? Interesting. Might be worth watching another time or two.

have you ever thought about dry-running your photo links here, Coltrane? maybe you could shot yourself a PM with the link first to see if it works.

or we could just start calling every person who inserts a photo of a little red x "Coltranesque". your choice.

ETA: way to go on getting the image to work above! but I'm not taking it back.

And ETA that I can't believe I'm sying this, but Coltrane expressed it better than I could, when he finally got his pictures right.

Huh. He-Man (of ".... and the Masters of the Universe" cartoon fame) showed up on my screen when I saw the original post, but the dreaded red x showed up in your quote. Mysterious.

Anyway, notwithstanding rp and coltrane, Mister Timberlake seems plenty popular with the lay-dees (based upon the sample of Mrs. Not Bob, the Not Bobette, and Wanda from "Help Me, Wanda's" beauty shoppe).

Not to mention Britney, Alyssa, and Cameron. But really I don't care if other people think he's lame. I, and the ladies listed above, are entitled to our differing opinion.

Weekend predictions

So the fact that I lost my ass on the Eagles making it to the Super Bowl turned out to be irrelevant, as I would have tried to parlay all my winnings on some combo of New England -7, Under the total, or both.

I also was picking Tina to win Survivor All-Star, so y'all are now forwarned, take everything I say vis-a-vis sports and reality-tv predictions, and go the complete other way. My new prediction is Alicia and Rob C. in the final two, with Alicia winning. But how great is it to have Rob Mariano back in the game? God I've missed that kid. His previous best quote: "Zoe's the best looking man in this tribe." What do you want to bet he out-does himself with respect to Susan?

I met this guy. He's a fucking piece of shit. I almost beat the hell out of him after he said something stupid to a female, asian friend of mine and groped another girl he didn't know. But he was so fucking drunk -- I mean, shit faced, can barely stand up, drunk (and I hear that this is common with him) -- that it would have been completely unfair. And yet, it was close.

Don't make me reboot this board again. Why is everyone so sluggish today? I did a home improvement marathon this weekend and all the paint dust and primer fumes I inhaled probably killed brain cells that would have preferred to die at a GA happy hour. What gives with everybody else?

scamming the scammers

Here's another person at Miskatonic University messing with Nigerian e-mail scammers. BRC may find this amusing; no promises to the rest of you.

Tax Tip 2003-60, March 26, 2003

The IRS reminds people that they must report all gambling winnings as income on their tax return.

Gambling income includes, but is not limited to, winnings from lotteries, raffles, horse and dog races and casinos, as well as the fair market value of prizes such as cars, houses, trips or other noncash prizes.

Generally, if you receive $600 or more in gambling winnings, the payer is required to issue you a Form W-2G. If you have won more than $5,000, the payer may be required to withhold 27 percent of the proceeds for Federal income tax. However, if you did not provide your Social Security number to the payer, the amount withheld will be 30 percent.

The full amount of your gambling winnings for the year must be reported on line 21, Form 1040. If you itemize deductions, you can deduct your gambling losses for the year on line 27, Schedule A (Form 1040). You cannot deduct gambling losses that are more than your winnings.

It is important to keep an accurate diary or similar record of your gambling winnings and losses. To deduct your losses, you must be able to provide receipts, tickets, statements or other records that show the amount of both your winnings and losses.

For more information on record keeping, see Publication 529, Miscellaneous Deductions, or Publication 525, Taxable and Nontaxable Income. You may also want to check out Form W-2G and its instructions. You may request a copy of the form or publications by calling 1-800-TAX-FORM (1-800-829-3676) or download it.
