I saw (well a clip of) the original comment that she made. It was definitely a poor attempt at humor and a stupid thing to say when commenting on Danny DeVito. However, did she actually say that Asians "should just calm down" and that its "no big deal"? I saw part of the clip where she apologized and did not see or hear her say either of these things.

When my husband and I were getting divorced, we got all maudlin one day and we were talking about what we would miss about each other. He said he was going to be very hard pressed to find another chick as funny as I am, so that was one of the biggest things he was going to miss. I've never thought of myself as funny, but I guess he does. I would think he would have described me in that way to his friends, since it seems to be very important to him.

I just read a little thing that she said to expect her to do more of it, because that is ho her brain works. And also that she had no idea that saying "ching-chong" repeatedly in a bad Chinese accent could have been bothersome to anyone.
