Ty (current), do I have to put up with this kind of abuse? Proper etiquette here would have been for Hank to PM me to notify me of my error and allow me the chance to edit instead of calling attention to my mistake. If this is allowed to continue, the board will just devolve into name-calling and partisan bickering rather than the serious policy discussion forum it is now.

You forgot to blame Carter also.

He doesn't count. He wasn't really President. He tended the gardens for a few years and did one great thing in the Middle East.

Remember a simpler, more innocent time, when we could clasp hands in harmony, secure in the knowledge that we were right and blame all that ails Afghanistan on the Russians?

No. Your options include using the ignore button, going postal in some fashion, or gouging your eyes out. You should know, however, that the latter alternative is classically associated with the confrontation of uncomfortable truths.

The context was confusing. The protagonist doesn't gouge out his own eyes, but rather those of 6 horses. Something about passion, naked horseback riding, and getting stung with nettles. Oh, and seeing Harry Potter's schlong.

Read the interview with Martin Amis on the back page of the Personal Journal section of this morning's WSJ. Scan it for a reference to Bush.

She didn't say she suffered more than someone at war in Iraq. She was talking about the distress people feel when watching tv footage and hearing reports of the war in Iraq...

For definitive statements about who "suffers the most", O. Hussein has got that covered.
