I understand your mockery, but to be fair, the idea that you can be healthier and thinner by consuming less calories, eating a balanced diet, and exercising more seems so far removed from mainstream thinking as to be almost radical.

I was gently joking, not mocking. I think it's a good thing. I think you meant "fewer" not "less" though. Unless you are saying that consuming Less is good for weight control and beneficial to health.
