Have they had the time to do so?

Underwater tunnels are the scariest kind. All that water pressure. Driving to VA beach with her was, um, something. I think that is where there are bridges leading to underwater tunnels leading to bridges, no?
Ah yes, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Something for every phobia.

I love bridges. And tunnels. And trains entering tunnels. And big ships passing through breaks in bridge-tunnels. I also love helicopters. But helicopters flying through tunnels, well, that's just: impossible.

Why wouldn't you ski there? That is, if you skied?

This sentence could use a hyphen.

In a 10 mile tunnel? With cars continuing to pour in but others stuck in the middle? Yeah, probably only a few cars.

Not a fan of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel?

AAAAAHHHH. I don't even like seeing that.

People in Detroit are only 1/10 a regular person.

I got 40, which I thought was amazing for my burb. Then I looked at some of the detail behind it and saw that the restaurants they had as being a half-mile away are actuall about 8.5 miles away, and the grocery stores tend to be about 3 miles farther than they say they are.

I think i told this before, but why save electrons now....... there is the joint Freedom Festival fireworks here about July 2 or so. One year I was in Ontario with the fam that day, so we planned on catching them from the Canada side. We were just reaching Windsor as they started and couldn't find a place to park so I just kept heading for the bridge. When I got on the bridge it was incredible. The fireworks seemed to be going off just to our right, and at eye level. I slowed to about 1 MPH across the bridge to see them all.

If you were my wife, I guess we would have fought because you would want to get off the bridge- in fact you might have insisted on taking the tunnel.

Is that potential deal breaker 47 or 48 for us?

Hmmm. The Worst Case Scenario guide for dating and sex has a section that we talked about recently here.
Quote:
How to Determine the Gender of Your Date

* Look at her (or his) hand. Compare the length of your date’s fourth and second fingers. Most men have ring fingers that are conspicuously longer than their index fingers, whereas most women have ring fingers that are close to the same length. Testosterone levels likely account for the greater length. Also take notice of the amount of hair on your date’s knuckles, hands, and forearms. Most men will have visible, dark hair (or signs of recently removed hair) on their hands and wrists, and sometimes knuckles.

* Be suspicious of baggy clothing. Your intended may be trying to conceal a telltale bulge.

* Look for an Adam’s apple. Most men have a bump in the middle of their throat. Most women do not.

* Observe shoulders and hips. Men’s shoulders tend to be broader than their hips, while women’s hips and shoulders tend to be closer to the same width. Do not be fooled by shoulder pads.

* Follow your target up a flight of stairs. Take note of how she (or he) moves while ascending. Men tend to walk in a more “straight ahead” motion with minimal “wobbling” back and forth. Women tend to sway a bit from side to side, due to the position of their pelvises. Women also tend to lean forward slightly.

Be Aware

* Look for at least three of these characteristics before you draw conclusions about your date’s gender, then make your plans accordingly.

* Voice is not always a good indicator of gender—a low voice may simply be the result of hard living.

I forget, was it Abba or gwink that stuck her hand down her commando date's pants? I'm thinking Abba. Wouldn't that be a lot quicker than checking for all those signs?

Yeah, the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel. My proudest moment was the night of my 21st birthday -- I was celebrating in Va Beach and drank a Bud Ice, several shots of tequila, a few bourbon & cokes and then got in my friend's truck to drive back to Hampton. She had to stop 5 times total during that drive for me to throw up but I made it all the way across the bridge and through the tunnel without her having to stop. Stopping to puke in the tunnel would have sucked.

Keeping the puke in for the bridge/tunnel ride is the sign of a truly classy lady.
