I won spelling championships, not grammar. Is the hyphen between tomato and basil, or basil and outta?

Grandparents:
Robert and Ann
Baldomero and Isel (my brother cried when he was about 8, and my father refused to allow him to change his name to Baldomero) Baldomero is such a bizarre name that it doesn't even show up on a lot of lists

Great Grandparents:
Francis and Frances (not kidding)
Katherine and Joseph
Nelly and [???]
[I cannot believe I forget my other set of gg names!]

I don't know what time it was on in your neck of the woods, but in my area, it was ungodly early.
It came on at 6:30 am on Saturdays in my neck of the woods. I LOVED that show. I always wanted Henrietta to hook up with Freddie the Frog.

Oh, and I was re-reading mysteries of Pittsburgh last night; you remind me of Phlox in so many ways.

Kisses.
Pfft.

Speaking of phlox, I went into a flower shop the other day [ok - a hoity-toity one, but STILL!!], and they were selling phlox for $4 a stem!! That shit grows like weeds all over the place! Four dollars a freakin' stem?!?

I spoke loudly about what a ripoff it was. I'm so classy.

Wow. Olga was in the top 200 until almost 1930, and didn't fall out of the top 500 until the 70s. Huh.

My sister's name has never been in the top 1000 ever, and my dad's name hasn't been in since 1977 (when it was 900-something). It was in the top 300 or 400 around the time he was born, though. My mom and I are common little proles.

Wouldn't Frieda have been upset?

Actually, I didn't know there was a Frieda the Frog until I found Henrietta. And she's a cousin, so it never would have worked out.

I dunno -- did the show take place in West Virginia?

Great Grandparents: [grandfather left home at 16 and never spoke of them, all I know is they were Polish] and Joseph/shamefully can't remember.
Maria/[possibly also Joseph] and Cleotilde /Gumecindo.

My grandmother thankfully nipped the Gumecindo trend in the bud. I don't think anyone was particularly upset that they didn't carry on that particular family tradition.

ETA: Lazaro is the family name that I'd probably bring back. It's been a few generations since anyone's had it, and I think it's pretty cool, despite the potential for mispronunciation / confusion.

It’s the New Zoo Revue,
coming right at you,
Where three delightful animals have fun with what they do.
They learn with their friend Doug,
And his helper Emma Jo.
With Freddie, Charlie, Henrie-e-e-e-tta
They have fun learning what they don't know.

There, hopefully it will get out of my head now.

I see the name Baldo every day:

I assume Baldo is short for Baldomero?

I think Texas, but same difference. And I have now learned that Mr. Dingle was Chuck Woolery. Gasp.

Emmy Jo. Married Doug Momary. Not a great last name to marry into.

Actually, I like your name way better than mine. In fact, if I were a celebrity, I think I'd change my name to yours. Not only that, I think I'm going to start insisting people call me by your first name. Only the first name. I'm going with no last name, difficulty-to-accomplish be damned!!!
Excellent. Let me know how that works out for you. I have had moderate success. I've even stopped signing my last name on almost everything other than checks. Not only is it a catchy one word name, but it saves time and effort in signing credit card receipts. Next I may follow Laverne and just cut it down to a single letter.
