I was there. I got to that stage an hour and a half early so I could be about 20 feet from Jeff Tweedy. Turned out to be about 100 feet, but it was good enough. It was unbelievable, and I heard that the taping of the ACL tv show the day before was even better. I think it was the same playlist.

They gave Wilco an hour and 15 minutes when they usually give an hour. It was awesome. I know I say that every time I hear them, but dammit...I'm not the only one. Look at This blog report of the taping of their Austin City Limits television show set the night before. It's the little things with them. Like Tweedy going acoustic for I am going to break your heart And the big things, like the amazing guitar solos that seemed to just take over the world. And the craziness around him with drums and guitar and other noise while Jeff sings softly and calmly to the lyrics of Via Chicago. The set was pretty heavy with Sky Blue Sky, but as always, they played a lot from various albums. I've heard Walken so many times live now, it surprises me it's only been released on Sky Blue Sky. I actually was sort of surprised that The Late Greats" wasn't played because I've heard it so many times live now... I don't really know how to express how much I love hearing this band, especially with Nels Cline at guitar now. It's possibly my perfect band. I was standing there, singing along with thousands of other die hard Wilco fan and I was perfectly happy. I could have just gone to this show and I would have been fine with my ACL experience.
That blog post I linked to is about the show you just saw. The writer was at the taping and was equally orgasmic in his description.

I tried it for the first time today. I have a cold and was congested, and the rinse seemed to help. I know some of you do this. Any hints beyond the basic package directions?

Which pot do you have? If you have the sinucleanse one, I would recommend using about half of the recommended salt. I use 1/2 packet of the salt in a full pot of the water.

With a drink in my hand and my toes in the sand.

I just found out that I am going to have the Monday before Christmas off, which means I suddenly find myself with 4 days off without the Brazenette that I was not expecting.

I'm thinking about maybe taking a 4 day quickie to the Bahamas.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the link.

I recorded it. Now I really need some external speakers for my TV.

It's not easy to make Old Style taste good.

I missed it. I don't know why, but I did. Truth is, I missed most of the music at ACL this year. I did however manage to swim in Barton Springs.

sort of this one. does it matter? a google search showed some pretty odd ones.

is less salt because it irritates you? full salt didn't bother me, but maybe it will over time?

O.K., I'm just going to say it. I don't love Wilco. I think they are fine. I believe them to be talented musicians and songwriters, but I sometimes find their music to be a little dull.

On a related confessional note, I saw Neko Case live earlier this year. I found that concert to be . . . fine. Fantastic voice. Dark, intriguing lyrics. But musically? Well, it was fine.

I think more salt tends to shrink (temporarily) the tissue because it pulls moisture out of the tissues. I find it painful if I have too much or too little salt, but I just use . . . salt, not the packets, so I'm measuring by eye and get it wrong a lot.

That's the one I have. The full-salt burns me and makes for a very unpleasant experience, but if it didn't bother you, then you are probably fine using the full amount. I assume if you read the directions you already know this, but the water should be lukewarm to warm, not very hot. It should be as close as you can get it to your body temperature.

I haven't used mine in a while, I may need to dig it out tonight. Talking about it has made my sinuses feel unclean.

I was about to object to this joke, but then I realized you could just as easily have made it following a middle-school-running-route post, so instead I will simply thank you for your forebearance.

2. If I'm actually sick or whatever, using salt at the slight burn feeling level is worth it for the shrinkage* effect.

*I couldn't figure out the adjective form for this word.**
