Wow, she's a happy role model. From Wikipedia:

"A heavy smoker all her life, Schneider also took to drinking in her later years, especially after the sudden death, on July 5, 1981, of her son, who was found impaled on a fence at his stepfather's parents' house, which he was apparently attempting to climb. When she was found dead in her apartment in Paris, France in 1982, aged only 43, rumour had it that she had committed suicide by taking a lethal cocktail of alcohol and sleeping pills. However, no post-mortem was carried out and she was officially declared as having died of cardiac arrest."

Impaled? Man, that's got to suck.

Not I. I only watch documentaries, arts programming, and C-Span, while billing and sometimes performing expert blowjobs on my SO as the obscure B-sides made by artists whom I liked long before they became popular blast on my SoundDock.

And until that point she had thought the sexual "attentions" of her stepfather were a bad memory.

An acquaintance of mine drunkenly impaled himself on a wrought iron fence that he was trying to traverse to get into or out of some locked college. It was only his forearm, and it would have hurt a lot more had he not been drunk off his gourd. But I think he probably wouldn't have impaled himself if he'd been more sober. The scar was very interesting.

Rugby players are an odd lot.

Did he brush it off and say "it's only a flesh wound"?

Actually, I think so. And in the accent you'd expect for that type of remark. I'm pretty sure his buddies had to convince him to go to the emergency room instead of whatever party they were trying to crash.

Don't worry about it - it's an old beef. I've met Penske. I like him. However, I also told him I think his posts suck ass and detract from my enjoyment, the readibility, and the accessibility of the board.
This is true. I call truce. My socklessness should help. It's my gift to you.:dance2:

In my experience rugby players have proved to be more likely than the general population to memorize lines of Monty Python dialogue. They are second only to geeks.

I like both geeks and rugby players.

aha. those tricky dermatologists.

I was watching Greta Van Susteren's riveting interview with the parents of that dead blonde girl (they've been on holiday a very long time, WUWT?) and listening to the Last Poets' Live From Max's Kansas City. Amazing. I had no idea Ry Cooder played with them on the 72 Tour.

The summer after I graduated from college, I went to TCOTU to visit of friend of mine who had gotten a job at some tony ad agency there. He had this crappy 5th floor walk up apartment, and we crowded a bunch of people in there and drank way too much for way too long. At some point, a group of us ventured out onto the fire escape to smoke cigarettes and enjoy the breeze. My friend went to hop up onto the railing of the fire escape, overshot it in his drunken state and fell 5 stories to the pavement below. That sobered us all up.

He basically broke every bone in his body. But the paramedics told us that the only reason he survived was that he was so drunk when he fell, he was pretty relaxed when he hit the ground.

I saw him at a wedding a couple of years ago. He still has a limp, but you have to look for it. And he had some very, very good blow on him.

Penske's a mod, Slave (and That Highly Annoying Person) is an admin. Fuckwads.

Maybe "get Shiseido with mexoryl from ebay" should be added to my list for the weekend.
