Good morning, penske.

This all probably belongs on Politics, but fuck it...
Read Saturday's NYTimes oped piece (I think its by Kristof) about why Cheney has to go if Bush intends to win. Its not earth shattering, but its pretty funny.
There's also a great flick called "Outfoxed" coming out next week which looks really funny. The producer stuck together two hours worth of Foxnews snippets and internal memos and interviews which show how the network deliberately slants coverage.

Music Question

I think the Cure is the "next band to emulate" in the retro/garage rock phenomenon. My wife's a Cure freak, so I bought her the new disc. I never liked the Cure too much (dug a few tunes here and there), but I really like their new record. "The End of the World" probably makes their hardcore old school goth fans cringe, but I defy anyone to find a catchier song this Summer. Its not a bad stab at rehashing "Just Like Heaven", and its kind of refreshing to hear Smith sing something upbeat.
I read an interview with Smith where he seemed an utterly normal, regular guy. He actually had some pretty funny comments about the fact that he's not an unhappy brooding person, but just a normal man who "occasionally wears makeup." I love it when entertainers say shit like this. My favorite is still Neil Young at his Rock and Roll Hall of fame induction saying "Everyone thinks I'm a sad guy, but I'm not... I've been riding in limousines for a long time" or when David Gilmour told the London press "Floyd wasn't that deep... its just pop music."

All the soccer fans would laugh at them. Everyone knows the next WC is in 2006. Silly republicans.

How about "bite me"?
Damn spell-checker. Oh, inventor of this demon, may you rot in heck! I am (from a spelling perspective) useless without it.

Assuming The City means The only City that really matters, I think that Slave and Ironwuss prefer to be referred to as lightweights. Good luck on that, as if you'll need it.

Oh, God, yes. We're talking about a totally outrageous paradigm.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

In an ideal world, yes. But I doubt any of us are surprised that you don't.

I'd prefer if you don't encourage them to burn them in my living room. I can't afford another insurance claim this year.

Ha! Coincidentally I saw a bumper sticker on Saturday that read:
Mean People Suck!
Then, ironically, I saw a bumper sticker on Sunday that read:
No, You Suck!, Signed, Mean People
LOL! Good on the Mean People for such a quick comeback. I could use writers like that. Anyhoo, so far today those fvcking pussy-ass Anti-Mean People have not responded, to the best of my actual knowledge, information and belief (ymmv), and I think that the smack has come down on them, but I will keep all of all y'all posted. No pun intended.
(Hi PLF!)

We should ask his wife/mistress/SO whether he rises in the mornings.
