The Senate is a pretty collegial place. Graham probably doesn't think Kucinich would do well in South Carolina, but he's just a Congressman, so Graham will let him ride the bus down and stay at the Super 8.

so the joke is that he wants Hill and Obama to concetrate on the S Carolina primary. OK. I guess that is funny, but insulting to the people of S Carolina a little bit.

Religion on the Court.

Geoffrey Stone:
  • Here is a painfully awkward observation: All five justices in the majority in Gonzales are Catholic. The four justices who are either Protestant or Jewish all voted in accord with settled precedent. It is mortifying to have to point this out. But it is too obvious, and too telling, to ignore. Ultimately, the five justices in the majority all fell back on a common argument to justify their position. There is, they say, a compelling moral reason for the result in Gonzales. Because the intact D & E seems to resemble infanticide it is "immoral" and may be prohibited even without a clear statutory exception to protect the health of the woman.

Discuss.

Nothing compared to the Shia/Sunni rift on the Court when the Dems take the WH.

Beat you to the punch, Hank.

It took more than a hundred years, but America has finally succumbed to the scourge of rampant popery.

Terrorist attack thwarted

Someone planted a bomb at an abortion clinic yesterday in Austin.

This thing was intended to kill people.

How the fuck is that pro-life?

Uh, those people are guilty. It's like being for the death penalty and against abortion. Silly girl.

I succumbed years ago. The lemon and lavender variety is just a fabulous olfactory festival!

Why aren't conservatives serious about the war on terror? Why does Romney want to let the mastermind of 9/11 get away with it?

If a Democratic presidential candidate said something like this, s/he would be tarred and feathered and run out of town. (Except for Mike Gravel. Maybe he already said this, and no one noticed.) Yet the media is not bothering with Romney's comments, reflecting a disinterest in running with stories that don't fit into the usual templates (see, e.g., $400 haircuts). I suppose the GOP candidates are going to need all the help they can get.
Romney could shit gold bricks and spew blue flames from his throat on YouTube and it wouldn't be a story.

He's $26 mil wasted. Nice try Mormons, but like it or not, most of the rest of the country thinks you're fictional.

Oh, we're in Rome's pocket, but if you want to see real Looney Tunes, I invite you to read the Southern Baptist Convention's mission statement.

It's like the world's biggest White Trash convention. We Catholics are maleable and pretty pragmatic about the whole "religion" thing (most of us admit in our cups that, as Dylan sang, when we die "[we] ain't goin' nowhere"). Those crazy Baptists believe the world is 2000 years old. And they intend to enact their rules into law.
