Q for Yankee fans

For the most part, they want them to lose, and lose badly because they are so fucking jealous.
The "rivalry" between Jets and Giants and Knicks and Nets dos not seem to be that severe, though.
When it comes to hockey, that's a different story.

It's the sort of thing that I think about when I see a guy catch a ball in the middle of the field in FG range with 3 seconds left on the clock, but it seems even more useful in this context.

I'm not sure, although, outside my neighborhood tackle football game in junior high,* I doubt it. Don't you think you would have seen this about 1,000 times if it were actually a rule?
TM
*And only used when a player was wrapped up by 6 guys, 3 of whom wanted to bend his body one way and 3 of whom wanted to bend his body the other way.

Thurgreed, the "wunh wah wunh wah wah wah" is important to the inferences to be taken from your answers. Normal kind hearted people would like a local team to win. NYs do not. Therefore, NYs are heartless animals.

Jealous of what? Your secure spot as the #2 team in New York (just barely ahead of the Staten Island Yankees)? Your bright blue and orange team colors? Mr. Met? Shea Stadium? All those championship rings?

-That the left side of our infield is straight and 10 years younger and more productive than yours.
-That our fans know not to get up in the middle of an at bat.
-That our closer throws harder than yours.
-That our players sign autographs w/o a check for 3 grand (bye Piazza, homo).
-That our pitchers bat.

Worrying about the series would be premature. Since the AL won the All Star game (big fucking joke) you have home field.

This is a joke. You must be kidding, right?

Right. I'm worried about our roster. It's true I hate ARod and I hope they trade him, but please define "more productive." Jeter can toss your two guys a ring each and he'll still have one more than either of them. That's productivity.

What? Are you implying that fans at Shea are more knowledgeable about the game or are you lamenting the fact that your attendance never matches ours (even though we're in the same market), so you don't notice when someone gets up because the seats in front of you are always empty?

You're embarassing yourself. We touched up your closer for 4 runs in the top of the ninth this year at Shea. And I'm not even going to get into a numbers comparison between your loser and Mariano Rivera, the most successful post-season closer ever.

I don't ask for autographs. It's pathetic, so I wouldn't know how much they cost.

Yes. I'm green with envy.
Think on it some more and try to come up with something that makes sense.

Yes. DH in Detroit, pitchers bat in NL park.

What about Arod? Plus, these guys are each like 20 fucking years old and playing in the All Star game and in the NLCS. Of course, Jeter, who's been in the league when they were playing on a LL field, has more rings. Let's see in 10 years dude, when Wright and Reyes are 30.

No, not implying STATING. Yankee stadium is the only fucking place in the world where many people get up and walk around regardless of the count. They have no clue that there is a game going on. At Fenway and in the majority of Shea, no one gets up onless it's between innings or batters.
Back when I used to get free Yankee tickets, some lady chastised my son for screaming during a game "Can you please quiet down?"

How's his postseason record this year WHOOPS? Unless he was the guy who threw that homerun ball back from the bleachers in Busch Stadium. And Wagner throws harder.

Neither do I but kids do. At the Ranger game last Tuesday, LoDuca & Wright signed autographs for the entire game (unlike any Yankee or that homo fuck Piazza).

Fundamental Differences
Mets and Yankees fans are cut from different clothes. For Mets fans, 1969 is the defining moment. The Amazins. From the cellar to the penant. Lots of 1-0 wins, scrappy plays, unlikely heros. Don Quixote. They are the heirs of the Dodgers and the Giants, the team from the outer boroughs, the guys who try harder.
For Yankees fans, it's the murderer's row of the 20s that is the defining moment. The house that Ruth built. There's a sense of entitlement - the team that has dominated the most important city in the world for a century. It's a team of cocky arrogance. Self-assurance. Wealth. Grandeur.
So, in general, the Yankees are giants and the Mets giant killers.
No one ever cheers on the other team - it's against their grain for the Mets and beneath their dignity (or whatever you call it) for the Yankees.
The funny thing is, this year's Mets team looks more like a lot of Yankees teams, just younger.
