I am admittedly STILL basking in last year's World Series title, but this team should have been so much better. I never felt "it" this year, like I did last year. I just had that feeling last year...I think b/c they weren't dominant, but were solid...and lucky. And that luck rolled into confidence, which made them think they could win every game. I thought they could win every game.

I don't know how many titles the Yankees have won in your lifetime, but last year was my first, and it was just...amazing. The feeling really hasn't gone away yet.

This year, they were expected to be great. Adding Thome and keeping their starting pitching from 2005 should have made them great. Unfortunately, from year to year, bullpens are never consistent. I don't know what happened to their starting pitching.

The one real reason the Sox won't make the playoffs is Mark Buehrle. And I hate to say that b/c I love that guy. He's funny and doesn't take himself very seriously, and he has been a consistently good* (not great) pitcher his entire career. If he pitched this year like he has for the past 5 years, we'd be in the playoffs.

*even with his 12-13 record this year, he still has a career W/L of 97-66.

This is horsehit.

Go Oakland a/k/a Team Frank Thomas.

I'd love to have a Checker Cab. Those are cool rides, and you can put 500K on them.

No, but I don't like any of them either. What's that make me? A moral relativist?

The first baseball game I ever attended was a Tigers game also. Tigers-Blue Jays in Tiger Stadium. With my dad and my uncle who lived in Livonia. I was a Phillies fan at the time. Now? No allegiance. I even have a hard time with baseball during the playoffs. Unless I'm watching it live. I guess I'm a Dodgers fan when I'm at the games here because I want them to win so they'll play I Love LA at the end of the game. Plus I typically go with a die-hard Dodgers fan who has season tickets.

Did you like Butte State? Even after you figured out it wasn't what you were expecting?

eta: Shit, that was supposed to be Ball State. No wonder Stanfurd wouldn't let me in.

Got a spare $3K?

I'd love to recreate the Studebaker from the Muppet Movie for the Art Car parade some year. (According to Wiki, they're 1951 Commanders)

The man has said he doesn't like blow jobs, are you really surprised by anything else he has to say?

You're quite an afficiando of the geriatric motoring world.

If I find myself shopping for a Town Car, I will do the honorable thing and point my mechanized wheelchair into oncoming traffic on the nearest freeway.

Apple pie is not that great. The smell of it is great, but the taste - meh. I only like apple crisp or apple crumble, not apple pie. My favorite pies are blueberry, pumpkin or Cherry Pie.

For dinner last night I had the best kobe beef I think I have ever tasted in my life. I think it actually helped me sleep really well and feel very happy today. Magical.
