Don't worry about it - it's an old beef. I've met Penske. I like him. However, I also told him I think his posts suck ass and detract from my enjoyment, the readibility, and the accessibility of the board. I would be OK with being able to ignore all posts from his ISP. Since that apepars impossible, if I were an admin, I would do something to reduce the noise to signal ratio.
I have been given permission to confirm that Penske has, in fact, been sock free for going on a week now.

I am assuming the rationale that Admins can't be ignored is so that the Admins' ability to enforce order can't be diminished. But I see no harm in special exceptions in a couple of cases where the sniping generally irritates everyone, so long as the special requesters don't try to ignore more than one Admin.

Please?

No, I haven't. So fucking lay off, for Christ's sake, will ya.
Do you have any evidence to support the theory that "Secretarial Spread" actually exists? Google's bringing me nothing.

Or there could be an "Admin" login for actual administrative business.

One guy's Backstreet Boys is another's Keith Jarret. What's noise to you might be interesting to some other poster. If you cut it down to only what you like, you'll end up with only the posters who are similar to you. That's scary, on many levels. Pablumic variety breeds poster variety.

You don't need information to have an opinion.

There is also the possibility of actually either "ignoring" or merely "appearing to ignore" people by exercising some willpower and not relying on electronic means.

FWIW

I just checked our stats, and with the exception of that first month when we were trying to figure out how this place worked, June 2005 had the most page hits ever.

I thought we were tapering off, but the statistics don't seem to indicate that.

We've been over this. There is very little accountability for administrator actions if we do it that way.

At any rate, I'm trying not to be so annoying lately. I'm not sure if it's working, but gimme some time. It's an adjustment.

So why won't the lurkers post? Are there lurkers, or are we all just furiously and hopelessly hitting refresh in the hope that some boredom reducer will appear?
