holiday fun

Not a book, but if any of y'all are halfway inclined to see these folks, do it. One of my favorite Xmas things to do. PM me if you want more info.

Not a holiday book, but I recommend Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, by Susanna Clarke. More stuff here. It's about two magicians in England in 1807. It's a big book, which I love, and well written.

Any relation to this guy?

I wondered about that, but not that I know of.

Brooke has a nice stomach:

Brooke has passed into the "too plasticky" category. She's also overexposed. Now, of course, I'd still give a portion of a finger for a roll with her, but in the realm of women constantly exposed in the media, she's getting a "Domestic with bland flavor" rating at the moment.

My present favs remain the multiple Latin chicks from Vic's Secret. I just leafed through a copy of some mag called Arena at Tower records - great 20 page layout of a couple of the Vic Sec chicks.

thank you for pointing this out. I should find her hot because there is objectively nothing wrong with her, but she just looks a little off. The girl TM posted yesterday looked very good for many reasons - but one of them is because she didn't look fake at all. Not that there is anything wrong with looking fake, it's probably just a matter of degree. My friend's fake boobs look great and don't really look natural, but if she had other work done and looked more plasticky in general, she might look less hot.

To answer RT's question, I would not move for another person. No way, no how. Been there, done that. I might move to a different neighborhood. Maybe even to the east side, given the right circumstances.

Sheep are very fickle breeders. They aren't impressed by engine block size and you can't ply them with Ballantine's.

Its like good clothes. The really nice hand made stuff has imperfections. No matter what she does, Brooke's lapels are machine stitched.*

* Yes, I realize that many low brands have taken to mechanically replicating hand stitching by just stitching on the outside, but you can tell the difference.**

Moving for another person

I think I'd be willing to move somewhere else in order to see whether or not something works even if it's just in the beginning stages. It would depend on whether or not there's even a hope of my finding a job in the other city, but assuming I could, I'm flexible enough these days to pick up and start over for someone. I'd have to think that there was a good chance of a long term relationship with the person I was moving for before I did it. I used to focus entirely on my job and career stuff instead of relationship stuff, but that focus has changed over the last few years. I wouldn't have moved for my last boyfriend, but maybe I would for the next.
There'd have to be at least some sort of committment first. Remember, if you're the one moving for the other person, if and when the breakup occurs, you'll be the one moving again. And the stuff you bought "together" mysteriously stays at the house unless there's a huge argument about who paid for what.
I moved once for a guy. Granted, it wasn't very far (50 miles or so) and when it got ugly I had to move again. I hate moving. I'm not sure I'd move to another state, unless it was a state already on my list of places I wanted to move to. I guess it also depends on how happy you are with your current job and whether you'd be willing to risk taking a crappier job with crappier people for the guy.

That said, if Brad Pitt asked me to move to Iraq, I would.

Have you seen her bare boobs? They might be the best set of fakies I've ever seen. I generally prefer real TITS.

You're proving the point. Even her fakes don't look totally fake. She's too perfect in certain aspects.

Maybe its that her body is nuts, but her face is nothing special. She's cute, but there's no really impressive or exotic facial structure going on there. She's like Jlo in regards to the face - there are millions more just like her. She's insanely hot for everyday life, but in the pantheon of hotties on the tube, she's not much. The TV/magazine hotties need to have that exotic look, like that little Brazilian chick in Vic Secret has. She's a brat who deserves a very strenous spanking.

Brooke more on the Pam Anderson side of the scale. She's just a collection of body parts crafted to fit the mold of what men allegedly want. Each piece is perfect or almost perfect, which remders her dull after a while.

Dude

Someone else with too much time on their hands.

Linguist deconstructs the word Dude, sees many meanings.

Kiesling says in the fall edition of American Speech that the word derives its power from something he calls cool solidarity — an effortless kinship that’s not too intimate.

Cool solidarity is especially important to young men who are under social pressure to be close with other young men, but not enough to be suspected as gay.

Anecdotally, men were the predominant users of the word, but women sometimes call each other dudes.

Less frequently, men will call women dudes and vice versa. But that comes with some rules, according to self-reporting from students in a 2002 language and gender class included in the paper.

“Men report that they use dude with women with whom they are close friends, but not with women with whom they are intimate,” according to the study.

Historically, dude originally meant “old rags” — a “dudesman” was a scarecrow. In the late 1800s, a “dude” was akin to a “dandy,” a meticulously dressed man, especially out West. (I could repost Sparkle's picture of the dandy guy, but I won't) It became “cool” in the 1930s and 1940s, according to Kiesling. Dude began its rise in the teenage lexicon with the 1981 movie “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.”

“Dude” also shows no signs of disappearing as more and more of our culture becomes youth-centered, said Mary Bucholtz, an associate professor of linguistics at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Degrassi

How come no chatter about Degrassi? We should combine threads and get a Degrassi death pool going. I'm guessing it'll be the tough ratty-faced kid who hangs out with Sean and Alex.

Any other thoughts? RT? Who's going down? Could they make it Spinner? Please please please?
