Still Cruisin' After All These Years

From Savage Love:

In your "Advice to 15-Year-Old Gays and Lesbians," Small Town Diva suggested that gay boys and girls join theater groups because even the "strait" actors are bi. This has got to be one of the oldest stereotypes in the book. I'm a strait actor. While I do meet more gay people than someone in another profession would, I still have more strait actor friends than gay actor friends. If you're gay and want to be an actor, great. But if you're gay and expect every actor you meet to be gay too, just move along, please.
A Strait Actor

It's been my experience that most straight people can spell the word straight. But, hey, thanks for sharing, Tom, and give my love to Katie.

This counteracts the depressingness for me:

The Red Sox movie is screening at 7:00 that same day.

Can you tell that the museum marketing person is desperate when she asks me to post this stuff? I could give a shit about baseball, especially the Yankees or the Red Sox.

Bonus if you go: You could ask the museum marketing person to pee on you. Past experience suggests that she'll say no, though. But you'll get an amusing anecdote.
How is this different from any other time when I go to the museum?

ETA: She says she'll give you all free tickets to the museum if you get people to come. Plus the pee guy story.
I'll be in Austin on Sunday. Can I get a rain check?

Nate is 40. So Ruth is probably at least 58. So George must be over 60, right?

Unless he is 6 years younger than her, in which case their marriage is doomed.

I find the bangs and the beginnings of extra chin depressing. He is starting to look like a former boss of mine. I need to get the DVD set of Sports Night.

I know one person who converted to Catholicism shortly before getting married and did the re-virgin thing after they went through the marriage classes. I thought that was ridiculous, but at least they'd had sex before she got crazy with God and the engagement wasn't that long.

I know one other person who confessed to having had sex for the first time with her husband in the limo from the ceremony to the reception.
Back from lunch...

I would never be able to look at someone who confessed revirgining to me again without that being the first thing that I thought of. Revirgining has to be the stupidist thing I have heard of. Sunny would do that shit. I hope you slapped her upside the head when she told you that.

This is a good story, so how about more details? It seems pretty unlikely that a person who had not given it up would do so in a limo ride. It's the opposite of being a virgin.

Or had she done it with others and revirginized just for her husband, which is even more ridiculous? Sorry, if my fiance had fucked someone else, I'd be right pissed if she wouldn't fuck me, pre-wedding, as well.

Just be glad it's not still based on your penis, what with the premium being placed on brevity and all.

I have it on permanent lopp with Townsend's "Rough Boys" and the Pet Shop Boy's and Erasure's greatest hits.

What is the re-virgin thing? Is that like our President's coke use being absolved because he's Born Again?

I think I said something about closing the barn door after the horse was gone. It was one of the dumbest things I'd ever heard of.

I watch them suck down Parliaments and discuss golf and their kids and think "God, I'd have put a fucking hunting rifle in my mouth years ago if I were in their reality."
They have kids and they smoke? And you live in Penna? This is so O'Haraesque.

Like you said, some women get married so they can pump out kids by forty and live the complete life (ie, go to them). I know more than one woman well who thought it advisable to marry someone who loved her more than she loves him.
