I Love You Like a Fat Kid Loves Cake (Poll)

If you are a woman, you can gauge it by the amount and quality of attention you get from men who you don't know personally. If decent looking (as well as ugly) men who you don't know go out of their way to make eye contact with you and try to talk to you at the grocery store over the stupidest things just to get your attention and men are always commenting positively on your looks, you are attractive. If only the bald, fat ones look at you, you are not attractive.

It isn't so easy for men since women tend to be more focused on whether the man appears to be financially well off than on his physical attractiveness.

Men only care about those qualities if they like the physical package that posseses those qualities.

You don't have to be a model with gravity defying tits to get alot of male attention. Cute face and in shape body will do it. Good hair is a plus, too.

It really isn't that hard.

Gee, thanks.

Point is, why would an ostrich skin bag be so expensive? It's not like it's rare.

Cow hide's cheap too, yet the leather ones run $6000 or something.

But I think it's time for another thread on needless spending on expensive items. Paigow, could you confirm that's next up, before fat people suck?

fancy watches, anyone?

Rolls-Royces?

Art?

Shit, none of those are my bag, and if I had the money to buy 'em, I'd be sure to spend it on something else. I can't understand the other side of it, but, hey, someone's making money by understanding that other side.

It's not only the ostrich-osity that makes it expensive. It's the name. The regular leather ones (and I think maybe cattle are even less rare than ostrich -- although I'm just guessing) are $8000 or so. The crocodile ones are around $20,000 (or more.)

You're paying for the brand name, not the materials.

Ah, now I get it.

Thanks. I was assuming it had to do with the skin.

You cannot be this clueless. You who yesterday were talking about the "brand" a woman has developed under a particular name don't understand that a brand might sell a bag?

It's also a convenience issue. Ever try cramming an entire ostrich into the overhead compartment of an airplane (assuming you make it through security)?

For that kind of money? Honestly, no. I thought it was something to do with "ostrich", which was why I was confused.

No, you're right. A woman should be able to laugh off a guy rubbing his naked penis against her, as long as he doesn't progress all the way to rape.

Next you'll say that it doesn't count b/c he wasn't a stranger.

Seriously, have you ever had a naked guy who disgusted you rub his genitals on your bare skin? Did you laugh it off?

I'm glad they made amends b/c I really think that Hatch is just so clueless that he really thought what he was doing was funny and I doubt he meant to traumatize her. But still. Unacceptable. And more unacceptable to say that it should have been laughed off.
I don't recall saying I thought she should laugh it off. I merely suggested that she might have signed a waiver which would prohibit her from filing suit.

And then other people pointed out that it was against public policy, and I asked what the big deal was.

Cause really, still, I don't see why its such a big deal.

But then Bilmore and Hank pointed out the slippery slope argument and I shut up, because actually, I thought what they said made sense.

But nowhere did I suggest she laugh it off.

I think it has more to do with the fact that Hermes bags are made by hand by one person who places every stitch after punching the skin with an awl. The skins are custom dyed and specified by the customer.

But they're still not very functional (unless you don't need to get into them) and not at all attractive.

I'm more into Furla these days -- clean lines, yummy colors and price tags that are respectable but not outrageous. About ready to throw out all of my Dooneys and Coaches because the logo thing has become so annoying, though.

Clearly because I'm falling down on the job.

This just in - from the ncs school of ecstasy is not as bad as cigarettes...MLB's union rep says
Quote:
Let's assume that [steroids] are a very bad thing to take," Orza told ESPN. "I have no doubt that they are not worse than cigarettes . . ."Whether it's good or bad for you, it's a far cry to say that because it's bad for you, you should participate in a structure which allows your employer to punish you for doing something that you shouldn't be doing.
So under that reasoning, if I'm drinking in my office - which is legal (I think) my employer should not be allowed to punish me for doing something that is bad for me? Woo hoo! Crack open that bottle of champagne!!http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4458080/
