it's motorola, but not HD. Two tuners, because she can record and watch different things. In theory, at least, because one of the problems is that the audio drops out if watching one thing while recording another. Since I dont' visit her that often, I haven't spent much time diagnosing it, but when the tech came when I was there, he said that while he loved DVRs he hadn't bothered getting the comcast one because he replaced so many while on teh job.

new ipod speakers

The iPod Hi-fi is a three-speaker system enclosed in a white rectangular box with a black speaker cover in the front. Following Apple's minimalistic industrial design of its previous products, the system only has a docking slot for an iPod and two volume buttons on top.

Priced at $349, Apple CEO Steve Jobs claimed the iPod Hi-fi produces better sound than some of the existing third-party systems like that of Bose's $299 iPod speaker system. The executive said Apple's latest iPod accessory rivals in quality with stereo systems that cost over $1,000.
HA!

This one strikes me as quite odd. If you're spending $350 on a speaker product, you probably actually care about sound, and you probably already have a better stereo. I'd rather just get a small dock and a cable to run the line-in. Not to mention that if you really care about sound, you probably don't listen to mp3s except when out and about.

I'm pretty sure that's what balt has too. The current objective is to figure out how to expand the memory. HD takes a shitload of memory.

FWIW, the Tivo series 3 introduced a few weeks ago (well, a prototype was), has a plug for additional hard drives (SATA). So, I assume with that box the problem is in the past--all one needs to do is keep daisychaining hard drives for unlimited capacity.

Can DVD recorders adequately record HD at this point or is that totally different technology?

I don't think so--given that HD DVD hasn't been introduced yet. Although I guess that depends on what you mean by "adequate."

Here's the more important question: when are they going to bring out nanos with more memory than 4 gigs?

Well if everything goes as it normally does, they'll announce it before Christmas and have inventory in January.

Ahh, thank you so much. I should have searched microsoft.com rather than searched help in windows. Odd that it wasn't included in the default settings, though. Fucking microsoft.

What happened to the other gadgets board?

I wanted to ask (again) if anyone had experience with the use of Verizon with a Treo.
