Are you testing whether I'm a replicant or a lesbian, Mr. Deckard?

First time I remember having feeling for girls, was being about 9 or 10, and seeing the paperback version of Firestarter in the book stores (I was a big Stephen King fan already by that point), with the movie key art on the cover, with Drew Barrymore looking bad-ass as can be. I liked it so much that buying it must be somehow wrong, and I distinctiy remember sneaking it into my house and hiding it from my mom.
Haha, found it. Doesn't do as much for me as it once did, but . .

Best olympic event ever
Cuba beating Brazil for the bronze was good . . . and then I stayed tuned for the gold medal game. Wow. Wower than wow. I don't remember seeing two teams so evenly matched in a long long time. Either team could have won the first two sets, but the Russians did, led by their crazy screaming coach, their 6'8" 23 year old hottie outside hitter Ekaterina Gamova, their blonde do-everything superstar Lioubov Shashkova, their 80%+ hitter Irina Tebenekhina. And yet the Chinese came back with impossible dig after impossible dig, and won in 5. Fan-fuckin-tastic.
In researching this post, I just learned that the Russian coach has quit after the loss. Damn, he's a nutter.
I just wonder what Ekaterina would be like in the sack (this is not a good pic of her) . . . .

Bilmore was talking about a book.

I was talking about a television advertisement. So, I guess this means that Kerry has developed a bit of a pattern with his attempts to stifle the opposition

And you're both avoiding what should not be a partisan issue. If someone was arrested at a Kerry appearance for wearing an anti-Kerry t-shirt I'd be equally appalled.[
Are you not shocked that a person can be arrested on public property in the United States for wearing a t-shirt critical of the president?
|
I was nearly arrested when I was for 13 for hanging out in front of a McDonalds with a bunch of other kids. Hauled off to the station and all.
Both instances are nothing more than over-aggressive local law enforcement trying to prevent potential problems

I'm pissed that this happened a month ago and the first I heard of it was last night on the NBC network news. My liberal hometown paper didn't even cover it.
|
It was discussed, dissected and disgorged on the PB ad naseum. Come over and visit sometime.

Furthermore, you neglect to inform us whether or not Kerry did or didn't vote for an earlier version of the bill.

If anything, I was just surprised that he actually showed up to vote one way or the other.

Minnesota News & Challenge
Our ex-gov (Jesse the Body, for those not keeping score), has a new hairdo.
![](http://www.startribune.com/stonline/images/news43/jesse_sp.e.gif) You can even watch his hair styles change over the years: http://www.startribune.com/stories/357/4953606.html
In other news, I am living up to my avatar. I got three ribbons for cakes and cookies at the state fair.
Speaking of the fair, I have a challenge for the Minnesota Mafia: the Garden (formerly the Beer Garden) has karaoke from 7-10:30 p.m. After about 9 p.m. there is a significantly diminished need for quality and/or sobriety. I think we should do a group number. If Adder is in town he could be an honorary MN GA. Anyone game?

My point was, our oxen are being gored (ooo, poor word choice) equally. I'll buy your outrage, until you point it in one direction only.
|
Do you read? I am already said I was outraged about protesters at the Dem convention being caged off in a distant area. This is not partisan for me so stop trying to paint me with that brush.
I don't care about the book and ads because I don't care about them on either side of the political divide. I didn't care about the lawsuit over Al Franken's book and I don't care about the Swift Boat book I don't get outraged about restraints on commercial speech. As for the ads, I'd like to see all political ads banned from TV and radio because I hate them all.
I'll save my outrage for individual rights and you can be sure I'll be shocked and appalled if the Secret Service makes local police to arrest someone wearing an anti-Kerry shirt at a Kerry appearance. If that happens or has happened and I missed it, then you can use your oxen will be equally gored.

These are all quintessential political speech. The most protected of all speech.

I always wondered who actually submitted baked goods to the state fair. I would never have guessed it was lawyers under 40.... (having no idea how old Fugee actually is)

Alas, I am going to miss the fair again this year. Not sure how I am going to make up the deficiency of fried food and a stick this year, but I am sure I will find other ways to be just as unhealthy.
Do you think they have any Bobby Darin songs for Bilmore?

What the hell country is this anyway and what happened to free speech? The Secret Service had police arrest a couple at presidential visit for "trespass" (even though they had passes to be there) because they wore anti-Bush t-shirts and Bush campaign workers threatened to have a guy arrested because he complained that two teens he was accompanying to a rally were kicked out because one had a Kerry sticker on his wallet.
Does this happen at Kerry campaign stops too or is it just Bush?
The Dems confined protesters to a caged area far from their convention and the GOP is likely to also have "free speech" zones.
I'm the last one to be a First Amendment absolutist, but this is getting rEdiculous.
