I am fine with people going off the grid and living off the land. But if one truly respects the land/mother nature, he/she will take the time to learn how to properly surivive instead of jumping in willy-nilly. I respect and appreciate his attitude about society/materialism/etc, but I don't respect the lazy/reckless/arrogant attitude he maintained trying to get away from society.

that's very . . . slashy of you.

Okay. Just saying that if you are going to have that strong drive to do something like that, it's probably gonna come right at the time when you aren't grasping the enormity of the task at hand (that grappling with the Alaskan wilderness is no spin class with Flower. YMMV).

Actually no. Good point. In my fantasy, after the entire squad finishes their naked pillow fight on my manly no-poster bed, they put their sweaters back on and take turns mounting me. I do not wear any protection.

Tune in, turn on, drop out, but when dropping out, avoid arrogance and recklessness so that you are properly prepared mentally, emotionally, and otherwise to drop out in a manner that makes sense for yourself and others, and also, when tuning in, have some awareness of what you are tuning in to, and be disciminating so as to avoid adverse cosequences from tuning in to the wrong stimuli, and finally, when turning on, make sure that you do so in a manner that is respectful of both individuals in your community and the community as a whole.

Another question about a new show
Life- yea or nay? Just found out that a friend of mine will be in the October 17 episode, so I'll be watching that one. He's also going to be on K-ville sometime soon. I know nothing about that show. Coincidental or ironic that Hindu actors are getting a lot of terrorist parts post-9/11?
(ET fix show - he'll be on Life, not Journeyman)
Here's his imdb link, btw, he had a pretty big (terrorist) part in Season 4 of 24 (never seen it): http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0474779/

Grappling with the Alaskan wilderness may be more difficult from a you-may-starve-or-get-killed-by-a-bear-or-drown-or-freeze-to-death perspective, but it is not nearly as intense a cardio/anaerobic workout as a good spin class.

This may have been said before (it may even have been said before by me), but your sig line makes me think of Led Zeppelin. Yes, I know that it's really about something else.

I'm enjoying it. I doubt it will see a second season, but the first couple of episodes have been entertaining.

Yeah, when I was running from a bear, I was thinking "Shit. This is just not as good as spin classes for getting some cardio in." But....then I started running from The Infected and realized spin classes could never measure up to that workout.

If you start running from a bear, you are definitely going to cross your AT pretty quickly, but it is going to be a rather short-lived cardio workout. Spin class lasts an hour.

In the 7-8 year olds, they let them hit until they make contact. Each time, he made contact....some on the first couple of tries and some on the first try. He's not the fastest runner, but not bad.
In soccer, he zones out. The coach will tell him to stay in his space.....he's always all over the place. He tries to take the ball to try to score a goal, when he should be in his place setting up a pass. It is very frustrating. He did well as goalie. It wasn't bad. He's not bad at offense. Defense is a dee-saster. We're trying. Basketball he's not bad at all. Football he wasn't bad but he preferred to do baseball and it conflicted. Actually, at soccer the girls seem more skilled than the boys on his team. We told him if he does not pay attn. at soccer, he will not be allowed to play, and instead he's coming running at the school track with me, or we're joining the family plan at the large sports complex near us.
I'm thinking he's bored with soccer.

Or doesn't understand the strategies. I think you are overanalyzing. In hockey, many kids are 13 or 14 before they understand that a "pass" is something you can actually do during a game and that skating end to end to try to score will lead you to getting the living shit knocked out of you.
