If the squirrels start bothering you, you just let me know. I have a way with the squirrels.

How do you people not absolutely lose your shit when [your brain is telling you that] either (1) a person you know is dead or (2) a total stranger you've never seen before is sitting on the corner of your fucking bed? If you tell me it's because you are overcome with a sense of calm and well-being, you're higher than Less.
A friend once owned a flower shop. She was always having trouble with her cash register --- the drawer would always be found open. Other office equipment behaved weirdly in other ways, and other businesses in the same building reported unexplained pranks, mostly missing office supplies that would turn up again later in unexpected places. When she took some photos for her shop's website, a strange oblong glow appeared in several shots. She has turned around several times to catch a glimpse of a young boy, about 12 or so, standing rather rigidly in some kind of costume, not looking at her. She asked me to look into the history of the shopping center. Some quick checking disclosed that the shopping center was built on the parade ground of a military school for boys that closed in the 1920s. She didn't know this until I researched it for her.
All in all, I'd rather have a haunted businessplace that wake up to find someone, once again, sitting on the corner of my fucking bed. Yipes.

I'm one of them. I have enough cortisol as it is.

I'm sure I'm just repeating what someone else has already said, but THAT is some scary shit (as opposed to Ringu), and I for one am thankful that your spider sense and quick-door-opening skills were in full effect on that day.
Makes me once again thankful that I grew up on the not-so-mean streets of north Toronto.

Don Zimmer may sign on with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Should make for some entertaining Sox-Rays games, which have spawned several memorable dust-ups in the last couple of years.

As predicted in one of my World Series haiku. I'm too lazy to search for it, but (if memory serves) the line was "Zim goes to Sweet Lou."

Although why Zim wants to spend his last years sitting on the bench of a sorry-ass team that plays in a sarcophagus, I'll never know.

Finally, fringey, I liked both Cathy and Lucy better. Probably because an idiot on the TX board has had that Kermit one for a while though.

Anybody seen my wife Toni Tenille around?

Idiot drops cell phone in toilet...
... and reaches in to try to get it out - http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/ptech/1...eut/index.html
"Metro-North Railroad staff could not help the man, so they stopped the train and called police officers and firefighters to extricate him, a process that took 90 minutes using "jaws of life" rescue equipment."
The worst part -- it was during the commute home. How pissed would you be to have your train stopped on the ride home so that the jaws of life could come and pull some guy out of the train loo?

1) ewww
2) why would you want your phone back at that point (the article helpfully notes it has not been found)
3) if the other loos were occupied, probably quite pissed (or not pissed enough)
4) ewww

Because it's sort of bizarre and interesting when its happening... and because it kind of feels like being higher than Less.

So we were thinking the same things here. And how likely is the friggen thing to work after sitting in a chemical holding tank. And it isn't like you would be able to wash it clean enough since if it wasn't destroyed from the dunk in the tank, it would be by the cleaning process.
What a fucking moron.

Please note the Halloween avatar is NOT, I repeat NOT, a photo of the Brazenette (cute as the troll baby may be).
But thanks for asking.

When my sister dropped her phone 23 plus floors down an elevator shaft and it broke into a million pieces, they were able to recover the chip, and the 400 plus phone numbers therein. Some of those numbers were hard to get the first time around.

Way, way pissed.
But then, I have to remind myself not to get all pissy when the subway bogs down because someone in a train in front had a stroke or something. I'm an impatient creature.
I hope they billed the guy for the emergency services costs. Because, even more than being delayed, I would be really pissed if fishing this guy's sorry ass out of the crapper is being paid for out of my tax dollars.
