Is no one going to comment on these (or am I too lazy to scroll back far enough)? I, as per usual, saw portions of this. It seemed blah this year to me. One question: Did Usher diss Justin or was he trying to be nice? It seemed to me like a diss or else a very poorly executed "see, we're cool" statement.
I, much like Jay-Z, have 99 problems but a bitch ain't one.
Also, the Bush Twins came off much better than the Kerry Daughters. They seemed really out of place and too political for the "please just vote" message that it should have been.

I can think of few things in the universe that interest me less than whether Usher was trying to dis Justin. Actually, that is not true, I cannot think of anything that interests me less.
Ha! STP! I just read the rest of your post about how the Bush sisters came off better than the Kerry kids, and I just thought of one thing that interests me less.

Did PLF just dis ABBA? Or was his response a "see, we're cool" statement?

2.
My list of shows that interest me has the VMAs even lower than reality TV...crap, I'm Bilmore 75 years ago. I even went kayaking last week. Let's hope I don't grow up to be a bitter old Republican.

Big Brother 5
BB5 did not record on Saturday. Was delayed last Saturday, but I caught it on Tivo at midnight. This week, I don't know what happened. Less, Str8, Paigaw? Was it on? Did I miss it?
Who was nominated?
Did not watch the VMAs. What's the point in MTV giving out awards for videos that they don't even play? MTV has turned into its own reality network.
Watched HellBoy instead. Meh. Maybe I would have liked it better if I had read the comics or watched the cartoon - whatever it was.

He's been very unaccepting of other people's interests lately. I'm guessing he has a headache.

hi and a poll
Hi all!
Weekend update, the anal beads get two thumbs up. Wow. A nice new kink for me and the BF. I can barely walk today.
Since it seems sort of slow here today we may need a poll and since I am still basking in the after glow with that warm feeling down below and the BF is out of town on the go, maybe our topic du jour should be masturbation.
I was wondering how all of you masterbate. Favorite techniques, most memorable moments and so on and so on.
I’ll go first. Putting aside the down and dirty quickies, when I want a truly body-quivering orgasm I have to combine toys and erotica. The room should be dark with the a/c on. Very cool if not downright cold. I’m naked but for my silk robe and I start with a session of gentle nipple tweeking. The cold room helps with the stimulation here.
Next go to work gently down. Then feeling flush with arousal I like to turn on some erotica-I really like the movies put out by Femme Productions.
After 15 or 20 minutes of watching and gentle stimulation its time to call in the big gun, The Rabbit! Nirvana! The intensity is almost always beyond belief with my nether regions spasming and convulsing non-stop for minutes on end as I ride the big O out.
Even with a great BF, I recommend regular self-pleasuring very highly. For me I will give it a go most nights if the BF is not around and its also a great way to spend a half an hour easing into the day in the morning. Set the alarm clock a little early and take it from there. Just thinking about this may necessitate an early departure from the office today.

Putting aside the difficulty of determing which shops are the least disreputable, is there a general guide as to how much bargaining room there is? I.e., what's the markup, and how low are they likely to go off of list price? 50%? 75% DC area if it matters, but I assume that since it's retail, they all have similar approaches on prices, like they do on going out of business every 8-12 weeks.

I bought my rugs at estate auctions and estate sales so I've never had to deal with rug stores. I also bought vintage ones with repairs and/or worn spots so I wasn't competing with rug merchants for them and they were thus significantly less expensive. But a couple thoughts:
Machine vs. hand-knotted? Almost certainly more room to negotiate on machine made.
Country of origin, type of rug and knots per inch: These all affect price.
I'd probably stay away from the stores that have regular "going out of business" sales.

BB5 Spoilers:
There was no BB5 on Saturday. On Thursday, Natalie was voted out over Cowboy. Only Adria voted to evist Cowboy. Marvin won the luxury competition and appeared on some CBS soap opera. Apparently, he was a big fan, even scheduling whatever it is that morticians do around the show. Then, Marvin putted to win the HoH competition, so he's HoH for a week. He seems to want Adria off, but who knows what he will do. It might be smarter to break up Diane and Drew sooner rather than later, as they're going to protect each other and both have been able to mostly avoid being targeted.

No show on Aug. 28 according to the CBS site. Good thing I checked before posting because I got all my information from reading the live feed updates on the Sucks board and would have spoiled your Tuesday show. speaking of which, the CBS site says the Tuesday show is on at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

BBC America - Kumars at No. 42 - fucking hysterical. I recommend adding it to your Tivo list.

My Tivo list is already out of control. Tivo has backfired on me. Instead of watching tv my way, and more efficiently, now I find myself tivoging shit like Office reruns I alreadyown on DVD but am too lazy to put on the DVD player and Animal Planet's weekly dog shows. Which by the way, does not impress young hot men in their twenties. Am I right Coltrane or did you hit thirty yet?

It was the Friday before I found out Slave owned this place and was free to abuse his powers, such as they are, without repercussion. The only thing is, I should have figured that out a long time ago when I complained to you about prior abuses and you bent over and sucked some beads out of his rectum. Thanks for playing though.

Best way to buy rugs: find a non-rug merchant that is selling rugs while going out of business (e.g., Andersen, Brobeck, etc.) and go to their auction. Chit-chat with people and figure out who the professional merchants are. Bid once after the professionals drop out - in theory, this will let you pay the smallest amount over wholesale possible.
We've done this, and generally spent a very small fraction (like 3 or 4%) of what our rugs have been appraised for. (I know, I know...)
Also, Appropos of Nothing, some time ago I deleted all the names on my IL, but lately I'm finding there's a role for the IL again.
