Nope, not conflating. He did go to college here, and his work colleagues have the same sort of sophisticated sense of humor that he does. (He's a fast learner.)

Thank God!
The lawsuit has finally been filed in boobie-gate! Now how can I get in on that action?
FEBRUARY 5--It took almost three days, but the first lawsuit has been filed in connection with Janet Jackson's breast. A Tennessee woman yesterday filed a proposed class action lawsuit "on behalf of all Americans" who watched the Super Bowl halftime show and were somehow injured by Miss Jackson's adorned nipple. In the below federal complaint, Terri Carlin, a 47-year-old Knoxville bank employee, contends that Jackson's exposure and other "sexually explicit conduct" during halftime festivities caused viewers to "suffer outrage, anger, embarrassment and serious injury." Details of those supposed injuries were not further described in the complaint filed by attorney Wayne A. Ritchie II. Along with Jackson, Carlin has named as defendants Justin Timberlake, CBS, MTV, and Viacom. Carlin's complaint seeks compensatory and punitive damages, though an exact dollar figure is not specified. But it seems billions would be in order since Carlin notes that punitive damages should not exceed the gross revenues of all defendants for the past three years. (8 pages)

The only occasion in which I was reprimanded in any way, shape, or form, was in kindergarten: During recess, I was caught attempting to punch a classmate in the jaw (after she had scratched my face). I tried to justify my actions using the time-honored "She Started It First" and "Eye For An Eye" principles. The teacher wasn't convinced and I served detention. From that incident, I learned that if I wanted to beat someone up, I should have done it after school on the way home (which I did later, much to my delight). Stupid bitch never came near me again.

Suspension #2 in HS: We had "open" lunch, where we could leave campus and go grab fast food. I was with* some friends who didn't like the attitude of the manager at KFC. They decided to destroy the place. Not only did I get suspended, but they "closed' my lunch for two months, which is MUCH worse than being suspended. In fact, we almost closed lunch for the entire school. I am banned from that KFC for life, which is good, b/c I don't really like fried chicken.
*I didn't do anything (for once). Guilty by association.

No, the police have not cracked the case yet. Last week, someone driving on I-71 thought that he was shot at while driving in his car. In addition, he thought he saw someone standing on an overpass at the time of the "shooting." Turns out after examination that it was likely just a small rock that hit his car.
On the same day, a person called the tip-line to claim that he was the shooter.
In addition, there are claims that another person who called in claiming to be the shooter had a lot of trouble getting through and was disconnected and/or hung up on a few times.

To be fair, the original poll was "about or set on Long Island." So where it's shot is not strictly relevant to Str8's poll (however lame you think it was).
By your logic, the Summer of '42 is a California movie. Or does that not count, because the beaches in the film looked like they were in New England?
FYI, a quick google search reveals that Benchley based Quint on a sharkfisherman who caught some huge sharks off Amagansett and Montauk.
And I'll own up to an error in listing that piece of shite Sweet Liberty, which was shot on LI (mostly Sag Harbor), but which I think was supposed to take place in Mass. So we've canceled each other out.

Sorry, dude. Your story doesn't hold a candle to getting kicked of debate team.

And by your logic, and judging by the amount of times I had to buy my soup at lunch at the "Manhattan Soup Company" instead of the Great Canadian Soup Company when I worked in Toronto, there's a shitload of movies out there about New York but are really Toronto movies.
ETA - by Burger's logic, not RP's. (It's the alcool that's causing my inarticulateness)

By my logic? I am confused. Huh? It must be the drugs. Or all those colors I put in my hair.

I drank alcool* once before a highschool Halloween dance and my friend and I got suspended for three days for being shitfaced and being "unruly". How does that compare to debate team story?
*I don't know if you have this here, but it's like pure alcohol. We should have gone blind or something.
