And they would likely invent a sport around it, like farting to blow tampons out of your ass for distance.

Does anyone know the difference between a "Happy Trails" and a "Brazilian"? I would prefer to ask here first rather than asking my esthetician (who would fall over if I asked for one because I think she thinks I am not the type who would get something like that). But anyway. Happy Trails is an option where I go, and just sounds more fun, so I was thinking about it.

Seeing as how I am a do-it-yourselfer, I don't KNOW, but I would assume the "Happy Trails" is a thin strip surrounding the area, if you know what I mean, and extending up the front. Sort of the equivalent of a thin fu manchu. I'm sure someone will tell me if I am wrong.

Did the greeks call it the "games" or is that just what we call it filtered through an Anglo view of the world.

I am thinking too much about this.
Don't know if a distinction exists in Greek or if it was imposed by translators using the (certainly at the time correct) applicable English word, which seems more likely. Not that it matters since the debate is about a word in English. But you're right, it's a distinction made more often in Britain now, and it could be considered a British distinction in that they invented the language and so got to set the basic terms before we N.A.s got to play with it. Most modern dictionaries reflect common usage (as they should) and you're sort of down to linguists and curmudgeons recognizing the difference - find me someone who pronounces "hospitable" with the emphasis on the first sylable and I'll bet you 5 cents he or she considers football a game. But in English the distinction goes back to the time English adopted the word. The french/anglo-norman root, too, emphasized frivolous pleasure as distinct from competition.

Edited to say: you are correct, atticus, hunting done for subsistence or to earn a living was not considered "sport," nor was running done of necessity rather than for fun. Before hunting, shooting and fishing became the most common outdoor "sports," dancing 'round the May pole was also considered sport, often accompanied by other "sports" like rolling in the morning dew, picking flowers for each other and activities that seem to be strange archaic forms of "spin the bottle." I rather wish they'd bring those back.

I'm also a do-it-myselfer - but I was told that Brazil is about as small a runway as you could do - including no runway at all. Happy trails sounds like there would be more "foliage" in the "forest."

The GF has told me that the brazilian is completely bare.

But, from what I hear, Happy Trails is more than a landing strip. So what is the landing strip again?

BR(I though the "totally bare" was a "Playboy" or something and the landing strip was the Brazillian, but I have no basis for that)C

According to an article at salon.com, the Brazilian leaves a tiny crew cut triangle, everything else front and back is gone. I couldn't open the article on Happy Trails.

According to my esthetician, a brazilian is completely bare and a playboy brazilian leaves a very small landing strip (not a very long one but wider than a hitler stach or whatever someone was talking about a few weeks ago)

I don't have an esthetician but this is my understanding as well.

You know you see too much porn when it looks weird to see a full muff like the woman in One Hour Photo. It looked like a toupee to me.

And I am SO glad that I am not an esthetician. It's like being a prostitute--not so bad if you can pick your clients, but otherwise horrid.
