How were you reckless and careless with your body?

*sigh*

There is a fundamental problem with the Giants right now. More fundamental than the problem that they have a young, inexperienced QB who is easily flustered and receivers who sometimes refuse to bring their A games. More fundamental than the problem that the defensive players have stopped being leaders of the team and basically want to phone it in until the 4th quarter. It is the offensive line. On the rare occassion that they don't false start (fix this, Coughlin. now! that was supposed to be your selling point.), they are getting beat by everyone's defense. On almost every play. If they don't watch it, Eli will be wrecked. David Carr syndrome*. I was actually proud of him for finally tucking the ball and taking the sack instead of foolishly throwing it upfield in the 2nd quarter yesterday. But he should have more time. Make an example of Snee (your son-in-law, btw), who is the worst of the offenders when it comes to false starts, and do something to get the offensive line in a position to help your young, talented QB. It is an embarrassment.

*David Carr is my backup QB for fantasy. He's been putting up fairly respectable numbers so far. Hopefully I'll only need to call on him during Peyton's bye week.

Because how poorly NY played > how well Seattle played.

In fact, Seattle didn't play all that incredibly well. They didn't play badly, but the fact that the Giants seemed intent on really fucking up however they could sort of overshadows the fact that the Seahawks played football serviceably.

Worst ranked defense. Not sure how that cuts vis-a-vis whether drafting Mario was a solid move or not.

On the one hand, even with Mario, you've got the worst defense in the NFL. And you're starting Wali Lundy. So on its face, it would have been wise to take Bush.

But on the other hand, it's clearly the area the Texans need the most help (as if we didn't know this last year). And you've got to give him some time to show his stuff, and he can't do it on his own. Etc. etc.

If it makes you feel better, I'm guessing the Falcons smother Bush tonight and he looks bad on MNF.

David Carr was my backup QB for fantasy. Unfortunately for me, he was the backup for that pig-fucker Jake Plummer.

So, David is now my starting quarterback for fantasy. So far, so good.

The Texans are losing on purpose so they can draft Adrian Peterson next year.

Maybe the Giants are suffering from the curse of the carpetbagger too!?!?

That's what I'm saying. If the major problems were in the offense, then I'd be crying about the loss opportunities with Reggie Bush more. But the defense is the humiliating part*. Nearly 500 yards given up, against fucking Washington? 22 completions in a row? A non existent pass rush? Fucking Mark Brunell?

*Which isn't to excuse the offense entirely, they're merely embarrassing. David Carr gets a sorta pass for only having thrown one interception in these first three humiliating games and having a rather amazingly high quarterback rating given the performance of his team. He was first in the AFC going into Sunday's bloodbath. Still, there was improvement in the offense. Only one sack this game. And Andre Johnson caught pretty much everything thrown his way.

Hey. Fucking Mark Brunell is my hero. He's one of 2 Husky quarterbacks with any sort of longevity whatsoever. And, Damon Huard is now going to start. If I could get the Raiders to start Marques Tuiasosopo, I'm set.

Up at 6 AM on Saturday to get to the game, two pints, 15 cigarettes and a fried breakfast. Worth every year off my life.

Celtic 2-0 Rangers (video highlights as well)

I don't think Seattle played poorly. They played well and they're 3-0. Not much to criticize. I just wanted to point out how shitty Eli was and how so many of your points came about because of his shittiness.
