We're gonna have a TV Party last night,
We're gonna have a TV Party last night,
We had nothing better to do,
than watch TV and have a couple of brews:

Joe $$ - Fox fucked this show up bad. For the first time, they actually showed him to be likeable and not a complete rube, but it is too late. Viewership has been dropping and they cut back to one show a week from their planned two. Now, with some drama (his favorite girl quitting but two others coming on strong, the two hottest eurowhores remaining (Cat and Angique)) actually occuring, no one cares.

Average Joe - This has promise. They actually showed enough of the guys on the first show to get a sense of personality, instead of loads of voiceover, leadup, recaps, and hosts saying the same things over and over again to the main contestant. Bonus points for fat guys who get so excited to talk to a hot chick that they spill martinis on themselves. Bonus points to fat guys who say that, after she eliminates four and four explode themselves, he has a one in eight chance "for a hot piece of ass." Bonus points for pretentious Indian aca-nerds who want to be aloof and bizarre wearing pink ties ("Do you like broccoli") (I believe I know this guy's brother) being eliminated immediately. Bonus points for a quasi-asshole saying he doesn't want to be the best of the second-rate. Negative points for three uses of the word "fairy-tale." Bonus points for nerds with hula hoops. Bonus points for Kathy Griffin.

RR/RW Gauntlet - Watch out Ron Jeremy. Trishelle is two for two, and the fact that she looks like she was bitch slapped by one mean fucking pimp has not put a crimp her ability to hook up.

Currently, the most annoying commercials are easily the Coors "Guys Night Out" ones (esp. where there's "singing" about guys night out). I swear my eyes and ears start to bleed every time they come on. Fuck you, Adolph Coors, and all of your products.

I admit to kind of liking the current Nextel commercials, especially the wedding one. But they'll be annoying soon.

Concur on the "gellin' like magellan" commercials being annoying, especially the one with the two overmedicated dopes who get in a fender bender.

Having six different beers pitching themselves as low carb is starting to get old.

Jared from Subway needs to have an unfortunate run-in with six thousand or so Twinkies, just to get him off the air.

10-10 anything is almost as annoying as Coors ads, but not so much since Carrot Top hasn't been on lately and he's way more irritating than John Stamos.

Just about ready to gear up the pure hatred for Election '04 commercials.

Da (damn I watch too much TV) ve

Your taste, my dear, is so pedestrian. Everyone has seen the Jacko before and after. I was trying to bring something more unusual and more refined to the Board.

And on the vacation thing: Galapagos.

What is Trishelle 2 for 2 on? I know Sarah is 2 for 2 on gauntlets won, but I don't get the Trishelle reference. Is she hooking up? Could Irulan have been anymore annoying at the end of last night's show? The clear evidence of how awful that Las Vegas show was is that Trishelle is the least annoying one of the bunch.

I saw an old school Road Rules last night from the South America season (somewhere around 4, I would guess). It was the one where Gladys and some guy named Abe got into a fist fight. I think Gladys ends up getting thrown out for it, but I'll have to wait and see if they air the next episode tonight. Some local channel has picked up rights to the old seasons... The blond, scruffy dude from that season is now a bouncer at a Dallas bar/club. I would criticize him on his failure to use his 15 mins more wisely, but back then it was only good for 5 mins of fame to be on a reality show.

No. These shows become unwatchable once they separate they contestants and end the backbiting and infighting. I care more about whether Mandy Moore and Andy Roddick can find lasting happiness than about which person these human sad sacks ultimately pick on these shows, and that is saying very little.

On getting laid on reality TV shows. In the preview last night for next week, they disclosed that she and Mike are hot and heavy.

Which is your favorite Road Rules? I stopped watching after the season with that crazy tall dark-haired dude (who embraced the Elvis impersonator mission with admirable zeal) and his Norwegian sidekick. They were a hoot. Everybody else was just annoying.

As for the Real World, I haven't watched since Miami (that Flora, what a pistol!) -- or was Seattle later (omigod! I can't believe he slapped her!)? Have I missed anything?

Oh. In that case her total may be 3 for 3 because I seem to remember the RW visiting RR during her season and her having the hots for someone in the hot tub (during part of the Steven-Trishelle just friends period). I'm not saying "someone" to be coy. I have no recollection of what RR cast that was or who the someone might be. But, seriously, wouldn't you kind of worry for me if I actually knew?

Those black eyes are pretty nasty still. But thankfully the grapefruit-sized welt on her forehead has gone down.

I give and I give and I give to you kids and in return I get nothing.

I have no favorite seasons, only least favorite seasons. At least one Saturday per year I happen to be home all day during a RR or RW marathon and I get caught up on an entire season in a day. I heart those Saturdays. Now that the schedule has expanded to include Tough Enough, Surf Girls (right name?), Newlyweds, Sorority and Fraternity Life, seems that I'll need to have more of those Saturdays.
