3. tuna avocado roll with sesame seeds on the outside
4. crispy belgian waffle with butter and a side of seasoned egg whites
5. that veal dish where a cutlet is breaded, fried and placed on arugula and tomato (there's a name for this, but I just can't think of it right now)
And don't even get me started on dessert -- but let me just say these three words: hot fudge sundae

I don't know if I can limit it to just five:
1. Grilled lamb chops, medium rare, with a side of creamed spinach and mashed potatoes.
2. Burger, medium, on a sourdough bun with melted blue cheese and crispy fries.
3. Everything bagel, lightly toasted, with sun-dried tomato cream cheese
4. Good toro sashimi (hi pretty lady!)
5. Potato gnocchi with garlic cream sauce
I am not a huge dessert fan but I will say that there is nothing like a good nutella crepe, with some extra chocolate sauce.

I was really only joking when I was talking about your last meal.

I was going to go with 10, but ran out of steam. So go for it.
Mmmmm, gnocchi. With sausage and red sauce. At the place that could be seen from ncs's balcony in Dallas when she lived in the place with the balcony.

before I stopped the whole carb thing i loved gnocchi- BUT always had trouble ordering it.
My mother's family (Calabria) said yawn-kies. so I would order that and the waitperson, hoping to help me i suppose, would say "oh the ge-no-chi, good choice!" then I would say "what part of Italy is your mother from?" and they would shut the fuck up and I suppose spit in my food. Once the waitress told me her family is from rome and her husband's family is from Milano- so she won that one.
After awhile I got tired of the whole script and stopped ordering it, of if I did mumbling it quickly with some compromise pronounciation.

I would add two pies: Pecan pie and pumpkin pie.
And pumpkin cheesecake.

It's pronounce "nyocki" in my family (also Calabria).
In no order:
Artichokes w/lemon butter
Porterhouse covered in mushrooms from Rosebud Steakhouse
My mom's gnocchi
Freshly caught cobia
Unagi

I don't think the "o" is long after a "gn" in italian.

no offense- but anyone who corrects anyone else's Italian pronouncition is ignorant of the dialects- that was the sublime undercurrent to my first post and the zen lesson I was trying to give waitstaff.

Bullshit, there's a right way and a wrong way just like sauce.
Putting sugar in tomato sauce is wrong and grounds for annulment of the marriage.
