Actually the Oreo and the banana are the same concept - that being "white on the inside." A zebra is just a comment on someone's heritage. Oreo and banana relate to a person's beliefs and behavior.

Did George Jefferson not refer to Jenny as an "oreo" bc her father Tom was white, or as George would say, a honky. and mother Helen was black?
I bet nobody would ever put on a tv show these days that uses such terms.

So, this reminds me of the catalog I got in the mail last night:
A Touch of Class.
I checked if they have a website because the shit in the catalog was HILARIOUS. Unfortunately, a search for the exact phrase "a touch of class" yeilded over 70,000 results, none of them apparently related to this catalog.

I can' t imagine that Nabisco would have permitted that. I think he said Zebra.

I got that catalog for years. I have no idea why they kept sending it to me because I never once ordered anything from it. I know they need to show all the merchandise in the picture, but they do make a good example of How Not to Decorate a Bedroom.

From my brief perusal, it seem slikely that those who do order from it, have plastic slipcovers on their furniture and plastic runners on their carpets.
Ewwwww

Sometimes I call to make the interview arrangements myself to kind of determine how the person acts over the phone. I once spent close to 15 minutes providing an interview candidate with directions - our office is in the tallest most prominent building in our city, next to a well-known landmark - she was coming from about five miles away. In the middle, I almost said, "forget it, don't bother," - picturing myself trying to give directions for a research project. She arrived at the interview close to twenty minutes late and yelled at me for giving her bad directions. I said, "Sorry you missed your time slot - I'm going to interview the next candidate now."
