Q: "What does a lesbian bring on a second date?"
A: "A U-Haul."

I don't think such jokes are as prominent among gays, and I hadn't heard a straight version , either. Maybe this was just a Bay Area lesbian thing. For obvious reasons, I'm not invited to the meetings where such matters are discussed.

Why doesn't Neo fly away?
While I'm not a Matrix true believer, and while I find the Matrix philosophy stuff boring, this question bugs me.
There are three main reasons why Neo fights the Agent Smiths for a long time.
1. Fight scenes are cool.
2. The alternative to fight scenes in the Matrix movies is ponderous exposition.
3. The film itself explains why Neo fights Agent Smith when he can merely fly away. The Seraph fights Neo to determine his identity. When Neo says, "You could have just asked." The Seraph replies that you can only truly know someone by fighting them. Which seems more Fight Club than Matrix, but whatever...

Str8, you're welcome.

Here is his website: http://chrisberg.tv/index.htm

He refers to himself as a "sculptor of souls".

Seriously, I couldn't make this shit up.

Edited to add that he might look familiar because, according to his website, he is also an actor and has appeared on Will & Grace and Frazier as well as Days of Our Lives.

I only intermittently watched last night, but it didn't seem like I was missing anything. I had planned on voting tonight, until I was struck by waves of nausea upon seeing this picture:

Paigow, looks like you may get "To Ruben From Clay With Love " after all.

As for Mr. Personality, I caught the last 20 minutes and all I can say is that I now firmly believe all of Fox's reality shows are scripted. There is no way those people came up with that crap on their own. And anyone who gets engaged to someone they have known for less than a month is an idiot. I could never be on one of theses shows because I would figure that almost anyone can cover up their drunken, abusive or annoying tendencies for a month when the cameras are on and I would NEVER accept the proposal. I also couldn't get engaged to a guy when I wasn't 100% certain his occupation wasn't crack dealer or pimp. And given Fox's history with background checks, I would probably like to see his record and check out the sex offender database while I was at it.

edited to fix code. e/o

First off, I am now wondering if Chris Berg is the guy who dosed my cocktail at the Sky Bar in 1997 and then later tried to bang me after he had banged some Lady Somebody from England in the tunnel at Sky Bar. If he drives a retro pickup truck circa the fifties or early sixties and dated Kelly Rutherford of Melrose and is friends with my sister's friend from my hometown who failed the Bar and decided to try and write for tv while living off his trust fund, then thats the guy.

As for FOx,there is no way that these proposals are just flying out of people's mouths right and left like they are meaningless. Either the attitude towards marriage has shifted tremendously under the guise of the "starter marriage" or Fox is doind something to ensure engagements. Chris didnt even say he loved Hayley. And NO WAY am I getting engaged to a guy whose face I have never seen, whose last name is unknown, whose job is unkown and whose location is unknown. Plus, all that I love you shit and I have never opened up to anyone shit says that Will is a complete psycho. Probably a misogynistic one at that. I see Hayley getting freaked by his "intenisty", wanting space, and then he stalks and kills her. OR something like that. Creeeeeeeepy.

And those pics! I never would have pegged Ruben for a bottom, though I cant see anyone being the bottom to him without getting crushed. Clay can only be described as "fruity".

I saw maybe the last couple minutes and a few minutes here or there. I was busy watching Martha throw copper pots at people.

That said, dude in the green mask who tried, perhaps, to bang you, was freaky from day one (not because he wanted to bang you but because of the stuff he was saying on the show.) Dude in the grey mask, whatever. How in the hell do you fall in love with someone on a tv show. These people are actors, nuts, or both. And there is no way that stuff isn't scripted. Who says that stuff except in bad romance novels?

Why doesn't someone just stand up, hand the woman a single red rose and say my love is like a red red rose. Then we could really be classy.

What about the Sentinals? Those would fit nicely with the continuing "Man trying to destroy mutants" theme. And you're right, the Shi'ar stuff was a bit much even then.

And I always thought Storm was much hotter before the punk make over.

They can't possible do the Dark Phoenix thing they way the comic book does, as you said. I liked Galactus. Big as motherfucker who didn't even know you were around when he was devouring your planet because you were so insignificant. Fuck Freddy v. Jason. How about Dark Phoenix v. Galactus? Didn't she eat entire solar systems near her end?

And where the hell is The Watcher?

(Yeah, I used to collect them in junior high too.)

These are not real engagements. It's all about the fame whoring.

The people inside the situation take the thing waaaaay too seriously. It has to be like a groupthink effect. The longer you are in a strange situation with strangers, the more your experiences feel real.

So, while on the show, surrounded by cameras and producers and boom operators, I am sure you develop feelings for your fellow captives.

Once you are sprung, you are "famous" for 2 and 1/2 minutes while your respective network interviews you and then your hometown paper runs a story in the living section.

After the glare of reflected fame fades, so do the feelings.
