Here's your cat fight

OK Coltrane, here's your catfight - Eminem and Mariah
Dissin
Where Eminem says "the Em squad squeezed out gaseous emissions that implied he saved incriminating answering machine messages from a certain amorous, baby-voiced songbird, and might even sample them in a song in retaliation for “Clown,” which in turn was in retaliation for “Superman”
and Mariah says " she accuses him of being a frail crybaby, and intimates that she holds a special SECRET in reserve if things get REALLY HOSTILE. I don’t know what the hell he’s doing. It’s a little excessive. Doesn’t it seem a little bit girly? Like we’re in a cat fight?”

Sense of humor has something to do with it. I once attended a dinner seminar put on by my college's Career Services office designed to prepare us uncouth future graduates for the demanding world of luncheon job interviews. Thus, the menu was a parade of etiquette horribles. French onion soup, followed by oversized endive salad, then fish course, followed by roast chicken on the bone, asparagus in hollandaise, highly crusted rolls, whole baked potato, followed by a poached pear (served, of course, with fork and spoon).

It was supposed to be like a ropes course for the extremely delicate. If they had thrown in corn on the cob, I probably would have started weeping at the metaphorical foot of the climbing wall, like that chick from "An Officer and a Gentleman." Or for that matter every movie about basic training. They all have the Chick Who Cries Because She Can't Climb the Wall.

They're definitely both bitches.

If I were Eminem I'd restrict my fights to girls too. Making fun of Mariah is like picking on the retarded kid. It's too damn easy and downright abusive...

Idols on Tour - get your tickets

Only 10 of the Idols go on tour.

10 Idols

How does the Marine go on a 39 city tour? And how would you like to be the only contestant not to tour who didn't get disqualified in shame due to police record (not that I ever liked Vanessa to begin with).

Here are your tour dates - get in line now!!

How fun would that be? "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my client is a high school senior who kicked other girls and rubbed feces in their hair, but its not her fault. The school system failed them. Her parents failed her. And, dare I say it? You failed her. You watch and rent Jackass, Fear Factor, the WWE, and Gerry Springer. You taught her that this behavior is not only typical, but fun, and now the state has the temerity to want to prevent her from selling her story to the highest bidder at the threat of not graduating high school. Well, that's downright unAmerican. Could Ivana Trump not sell her story? John DeLorean? Heidi Fleiss? If Charles Manson can peddle his t-shirts, this turd-rubbing, cruel, violent, vicious "Heather" should also be able to profit on causing someone else's misery. These girls should be lauded for their entrepenurial spirit, not extorted into giving up their rightful millions just because a couple school administrators got caught looking the other way for 23 years, and now feel they have to make examples of them. Put another way, if the shit was on her mitts, you must acquit. Thank you."

Top Cult Movies

From IMdB:

'Spinal Tap' Tops Cult Movie List

Seminal rock'n'roll documentary spoof This Is Spinal Tap has topped a new poll of cult movie hits. The 1984 Rob Reiner movie about an ill-fated rock group, starring Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer and Michael McKean, beat The Rocky Horror Picture Show and 1932's Freaks to claim top spot in the Top 50 Cult Movies list in influential American magazine Entertainment Weekly. Notable omissions include A Clockwork Orange, Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, Life Of Brian, Straw Dogs and Reservoir Dogs.

The top ten is: 1. This Is Spinal Tap (1984); 2. The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975); 3. Freaks (1932); 4. Harold & Maude (1971); 5. Pink Flamingos (1972); 6. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974); 7. Repo Man (1984); 8. Scarface (1983); 9. Blade Runner (1982); 10. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

Eminem picks fights with people who are totally not on his level, and he comes off much worse for doing so.

E.g.

Moby
The dude from Everlast
Now Mariah. What's he going to do? Write some material about the fact that Glitter did zip at the B.O.? That's edgy stuff.

C'mon Marshall. Take on some heavy hitters, or shut up. When's Obie Tryce getting a solo record anyway?

There's a musical/opera(?) playing in London's West End about Jerry Springer that got a 10 minute standing ovation at its premiere last week. Jerry goes to hell and presides over disputes between God and the Devil, etc. etc. Sounds like a larf. Coming soon to a Broadway theater near you, I reckon.

I don't think our sorority etiquette rules were weird; it was just that we hadn't heard of some of them before. For example, at chapter meetings we could not cross our legs because it wasn't ladylike. That was the first time I had heard that.

We did not need a third floor rule because no men were allowed above the first floor at the sorority house. It was a good rule because it meant we could run around upstair in our undies.
Wow. I was in a VERY different sorority. We had no pretenses of being "ladylike." I had to kiss 25 guys on a list prepared by the sorority just to get in.

Not quite the Houston 600, but still good. Are you sure your "sorority" wasn't a front for Girls Gone Wild?

I wonder what their definition of "cult movie" is here? Any ideas? I think, in certain respects, TIST, Scarface and Shawshank are pretty mainstream, aren't they?

Haven't thought about "Harold and Maude" in a while. Great flick.

What? What the hell kind of list is that? Scarface is a cult film? Scarface was on the network a few weeks ago. I'm sorry, that doesn't qualify.

Where's Dawn of the Dead?
