A critical story element was just ridiculous -- "we have these guns that immediately disable any mutant. So, we gonna shoot the really bad and dangerous and evil mutants with the guns? Nah. We're gonna transport them, in a truck, to Alcatraz, where they will get injected with the same stuff that's in our guns.
"And we're gonna hope like hell none of their evil, super-powerful mutant friends will disrupt that brilliant plan.
"We're also gonna hope like hell that, once we get the truck to the Bay Area, someone's gonna help us figure out how we get the truck to Alcatraz, that being an island and all.")

I haven't seen this movie yet, but I'm told it needed more Lindsay Lohan.

From the Amazon blurb:
Quote:
"Rick Marshall is a park ranger who takes his two kids, Will and Holly, on a rafting trip down a river. During the trip, an earthquake occurs which somehow opens up a rift in time, propelling the Marshalls into a land populated by dinosaurs, ape-men, and the dreaded Sleestak. Later in the series, Rick manages to find his way home and is replaced by Uncle Jack (who had rafted down the same river looking for his family). "

Worst. father. ever. He probably got home, got a shower and a haircut, bought some new clothes, remarried, and started a whole new family.

Damnation Alley was a movie. A wonderfully crappy movie. Perhaps the unappreciated Snakes On A Plane of its day.

It was not applicable to what is available to me. Nor did it take into account any of my personal tastes, e.g. NO TOFU. I don't think you are ready to be a lunch recommender. You need to get some additional experience first.

I read somewhere that the same guy who directs the Academy Awards also directs the Emmys. When he won the Emmy for Best Direction in a Variety Blah Blah Whatever, was that a way for the Emmys to award themselves? Or is that the Emmys telling the director, "Look, we know you're saving you're best stuff for that other show, and we expect better in the future"?

FWIW, there's a restaurant that I did not recommend to you here in SF that serves artisinal tofu. It's called Medicine, which is a really crappy name for a restaurant, but I digress. I've had a lot of tofu in my day, but did not know what artisinal tofu was. It was awesome. FYI.

I would never mock you. And I know everything about your life. I was only trying to be helpful.

I liked the scene where the mutated cockroaches skeletonized a guy.
