I made a poll instead, so folks, feel free to go vote.

Edited to say poll completed. Those of you who voted for Ruben, gratz

OK, so I know that the "Walter" thing is juvenile and stupid, but it's also pretty damned funny in a "Mahir" kind of way.

Hell, he sounded like Worf, so I figure he was close enough. This guy went on to get a PhD in linguistics, so he obvioulsy took this very seriously...

If you can see them, do they help explain some things between Matrix i and ii?

the first 4 are on the website. The two "Second Renaissance" are great backstory.

1) Or good timing -- make a point, but not too much of a point.

2) Al qaeda didn't take credit for 9/11 for some time (if at all, "officially").

My law school roommates and I were on the phone laughing about this within a few minutes of the news breaking. A disgruntled Mike Thompson? Or Zina Schaffer? Somebody's had enough of Tony Kronman's shit, that much is clear.

Time for some more renovations Tony. I can't wait for the heartfelt appeal to alums. "Our community was shaken to its very core by recent events blah blah blah we are the center of the universe and will rebuild stronger than ever blah blah blah send me money blah blah blah."

Through a fluke of timing, I walked by the television and caught (for the first time) the last 10 minutes of AI, and now understand a bit better this whole Clay/Ruben thing.

Now that I have the proper frame of reference, I plan to go back and catch up on the FB posts on this subject. I'll get back to you in about 20 days.

MR, sometimes the parenthetical seems the perfect place for the afterthought or transition, but I have to admit that

MD (look I'm an aggressive-passive-aggressive asshat! my really stupid insults are small and in color! )JD

has ruined the tradition for me. So go over there (to the SF/SV Board) and kick his ass.

R(I hope he doesn't ruin my upcoming S.Ct. clerkship experience, but I'm thanking my lucky stars he wasn't a Bristow this year; anyway, gotta go, drinks with the SG and then slumming with my MENSA buddies)P
I gave em up about a year ago. So very 2002, assjack. But for once I am onboard with MR. One poster did em and everyone copied it.

I was quite surprised by the outcome.

Thoughts: how about Clay's fan base, or at least those they interviewed? The two men interviewed were totally gay and the rest were teenyboppers and a couple of their mothers. Case rested. I won't even go into the pink dressing room. Or the fact that his best friend is a girl. Why did that chick make the comment about all the girls wanting to clean up for hm? Is this some sort of cover? Nice guy though and i bet he is charitable with the money he makes from his touring musical and then off to vegas act. which aint a bad living.

Ruben, please lose weight. you are going to die soon. fat is not cute or cuddly, it is lethal. I heart you. Please take care. And you are lucky you are a man. THe last woman that size to have a succssful career was Mama Cass. And look how she ended up.

Home early from kayaking?

Basically, they both won last night. Though Secrest gave two different vote totals, news reports are now saying the difference was 130,000 votes, not 1300 or 13,000. (With math skills like that, I am glad he's not hosting a jeopardy-like game show.)

Regardless, it was not a decisive win. I checked EW this morning, and their online poll, offensively titled "did Ruben deserve to win?" catalogue more than 500,000 votes and a line of 63%-37% in favor of Big Ru.

For those of you who did not watch the show except for this week and perhaps last, Ruben's win might seem a little suspect because his voice was definitely tired and off. But you also got to see Clay's theatrical tics and oversinging.

Overall, the finals sucked and were not representative of either competitor's best performances throughout the competition.

Me too. I really thought Clay deserved to win. But it was very close--wasn't the vote something like 50.41% Ruben and 49.59% Clay?

Kelly Clarkson BIT last night. Cripes. She really truly sucked, and she looks like she has gained weight. NTTAWWT, but if you are trying to be the American Idol it just seems not smart. Her outfits just weren't flattering, and I HATE it when people style their hair so you can see scalp that is not a part. Yuck.

Ruben is one sweaty MF. He always looks uncomfortable to me.

How come Clay got the mormor tabernacle choir to back him on that annoying dentist song again while Ruben lost his backing? A testament to the producers belief in who needs enhancing?

anyway. I think I saw Kelly Clarkson on the cover of some magazine when on line at supermakret. Maybe Glamour? I think the quote line was that she woudl not ever lose weight for showbiz. Good for her. And compared to ruben, she is ally mcbeal. The ponytail and bangs was a little eighties for my taste. was she wearing capezios? but i actually didnt hate that song Miss Independent

Kelly Clarkson's song is good. Her performance of it was not.

Did anyone watch the Bachelor last night? I was flipping back and forth between AI and the Bachelor. Andrew and Jen seemed genuinely happy to be back together.

I made a conscious effort not to watch that bc it felt like ABC trying to milk a few extra dollars out of its jumped shark contrived fairy tale. I think the Bachelor is for all intents and purposes, done. If I were predicting Were the ratings worse this go around?

Now this keeps confusing me. What channel is this "kayaking" on? Can you only watch it at a sports bar which is why everyone talks about "coming home from kayaking?"
