I guess I should throw a couple caveats in here.

1. I don't hit it that far consistently, but when I have a nice, smooth (not trying to kill it) swing, that's what I hit.

2. Like I said, the lofts on my clubs are pretty strong. My 9 iron is probably only two or three degrees off of what most people's 8 irons are.

3. I am a horrible golfer, primarily because I can't do shit when I get within 50 yards of the green. can't chip. can't pitch. can't putt. I typically golf right around 100. Best round ever was 90. Despite my suckiness, I still love the game and can only get better (this is only my third season). Lessons are the key. I take them every spring.

As I have admitted, I am not a good golfer. I hit my sand wedge 110. I hit my pitching wedge 135. I hit my 9 iron 150. I hit my eight about 160. I hit my seven 170-175. Six = 185. Anything lower than that and I'm too inconsistent to give you a distance. I've played with Chevalier. He'll tell you I hit the ball far, but not very accurate (with any consistency).

If you get FX, do yourself a favor and tape/Tivo the "Lucky" marathon on Memorial Day. It's probably only six or so episodes, but almost all of them are great.
