The story appears to have morphed a bit since I read it yesterday -- in USA Today, I believe (okay, shoot me -- I was stuck in a hotel, that's all there was to read).

As I read it, the judge admitted the first line ("Are you a terrorist") claiming that he was "probably" kidding, but denied saying the second line ("You have money to give to terrorists" or something like that) entirely.

Somehow, I find his credibility...... questionable. And that even leaving aside the fact that he previously used his position to pressure police to drop a DUI against a friend.

Having learned - from television, mind you, so it must be true - that every person I know that ever smoked a bowl or cranked a line, in essence, aided and abetted those murderous scoundrels that brought down the Twin Towers, I don't think it is that implausible for this jurist to question whether her failure to pay her parking tickets was but some small part of some greater, nefarious scheme.

Yah. Ditto for Mrs. Sandwich, the Soupette, and the Soup Dog.

Out of curiousity, which ones don't work? The Baguette? The Prince? Mrs. Sandwich, the Soupette, and the Soup Dog? You know, your SO could be "Mr. Robust!", which I think is a downright nifty name.

I rather thought the point was to be obsequious.

If I had a Mrs. Eaze, she would no doubt agree. And the Eaze cats certainly agree with me, as well.

Hmm, maybe they should be the Pusseaze.

My heart just bursts with pride that this mental midget chose our professional sandbox to play in.

I had a chardonnay in the Plumpjack winery a little over a year ago. It was the best chardonnay that I have ever tasted. Unfortunately, everyone else thought so too, because it was sold out.

So Frances McDormond supports terrorism? High Times as well?
pot smokers
Move over Woody Harrelson. Frances McDormand is giving you a run for your money in the pro-pot department.
The Oscar-winning actress, who is married to filmmaker Joel Cohen, gave an interview to High Times in which she declares her passion for the weed. “Woody Harrelson has a political agenda,” McDormand tells the magazine devoted to cannabis. “I’m here because I think it’s a lot of fun!”

The site is loading very slowly for me today, so I couldn’t, but it’s just as well because it probably would have resulted in a filter-lighter double post anyway.
Oh, come on, people!

It is well within our tradition to rant and rave about nothing. Given that, I ranted and raved about your ranting and raving.

I thought the original function of the parentheticals was to frustrate text searches for posters' names. Can anyone confirm?

Unless she recently divorced Joel Coen [Ethan's brother], it becomes apparent that MSNBC and the NYT use the same fact checkers.

For fuck's sake. People are sensitive.

Edited to change Provider to Protector -- I should have posted three hours ago immediately after I took the test.
