Susan Cooper/Dark Is Rising
They're making (a) movie(s) out of this? Huh.
The books are from a long long time ago. Was there some resurgence in popularity of which I'm unaware?

not to be patronizing, but the movie industry is hardly about anything other than $$$, and this Harry Potter thing has made some money. I bet several studios have teams of people reading kid's book for fantasies that will translate to the screen.

Will you change your mind if the Yankees ever win the Series via the Wild Card?

I can't believe Seinfeld ended 9 years ago.

Really, more like ten. The last season was pretty much mailed in.

Apple Store Credit
Okay TM don't say I never did anything for you.
If you are an early IPhone purchaser you may be eligible for a 100 electronic credit that you can use in any Apple store or on line.

The first time we made the Wild Card, you guys bitched and moaned about it. Then you guys made it and we bitched. Now it's your turn again. This will never end.
The rules are the rules. If you make the playoffs, that's it. It's what you do when you get there that counts.

Yep. I got mine already and it doesn't expire. So, when the next, better version comes out (not just the one with more memory, because I don't really care much about that), I will have a $100 discount.

Susan Cooper/Dark Is Rising
I heard an interview on NPR the other day with Susan Cooper. I don't think she's thrilled about how the movie translated the books.

I'll give credit to apple for this--I got an itunes gift card for xmas, and added it to my account. They sent me emails reminding me I had credit on itunes, unlike most places that hope you'll never redeem your gift cards.
