He probably got you and sebby's mixed up. Let's just say that the sentiment has been expressed once or twice before on the FB.

There is deterioration that occurs because of inevitable natural processes, and then there is letting it slide. Stretchmarks happen. Breasts sag. Vericose veins pop up. Generally, these things are not within the control of the person, excepting that pregnancy certainly tends to accelerate several of them. Many people are willing to take that trade off. Barring plastic surgery, the baltspouse will never again have a stomach as tight as she had before the baltspawn (although she still looks better than 98% of women, IMHO), and I suspect she works out more than you (10hrs a week). I don't care, and since she's well within your acceptable range, you wouldn't either. That doesn't mean it's something she doesn't notice.

This has nothing to do with being fat, or out of shape. I'm just saying that for most men, if in the hypothetical of carrying a baby to term you added on the issue of strech marks and sagging breasts, it wouldn't be a deal breaker, just as it isn't for most women.

An interesting analysis, but based on flawed assumptions.

The failure rate statistics are for number of women per 100 using a type of birth control who become pregnant per year. Recently, such statistics are generally cited in pairs for each type of birth control: "real world" usage and optimal usage. For birth control types that require continual maintenance (the pill) or successful application each time (condoms, diaphrams, etc.) the real world failure rate is significantly higher. For more or less permenant forms (Norplant, IUD, snip) the failure rate is virtually identical.

The failure rate of the pill in ideal circumstances is indeed somewhere in the 1-2 per thousand range. Practically, however, it is more in the 50-80 per thousand, due to forgotten pills. The only forms that get to real world 1-2 per thousand are Norplant and IUDs (even snipping is less reliable).

How do I know all this crap? The baltspouse has been looking at alternatives to the pill, and all the literature she brought home from the GYN has these statistics in it.
Despite the factual flaws....

Note that those statistics assume average sexual activity, since they are based on a large sampling of women, and will need to be adjusted for Slave.

An interesting article which supports a concern I've long been raising: part of the issue that needs to be dealt with is the impact of what happens in Iraq on what happens to the north, especially in the Caucasians. What seems missing in the article is the impact that Kurdish autonomy has in destabilizing Turkey (both because it encourages Kurdish activity there and because with the focus on the Kurds and the Iraqi border, the Turks take attention away from the Armenians, giving their Armenian population some hope of autonomy and ultimately union with Armenia proper.

The fact that there are only two local countries in this guard is troubling to me.

Good question.

On the other hand, once you're making $750,000 as a partner, you've got F-U status and can wear whatever you damn feel like. Hell, once you cross about $1.5 million, walking around in your underwear is perfectly acceptable.

So, the conversation has proceeded as follows: abortion ------> pregnancy --------> stretch marks and varicose veins -----> people who don't take care of themselves --------> fat people are disgusting and evil

So, if we know that some embryo/fetus is going to grow up to be a fat slob that takes up 1/3 of club or raouaouaouaoal's seat on the airplane, mandatory abortion?

Not if they're going to make $750,000 or more as a partner in a law firm.

(and isn't the sebby/clubby view that fat people are just disgusting and personally deficient - I think evil is overstating it just a bit).

That's too extreme. More like mandatory boot camp or at least a wiring of the jaws.

Incidentally, my remarks weren't targeted solely at fat people. For me it's a consideration thing. For example, people who smell really bad also bother me (exceptions made for blue collar workers who are on the job).

What about homeless people?

Who pays for the boot camp and wiring of the jaws (and any resulting medical problems)? Or will the boot camp involve producing goods or services that will cover the cost?

Don't get me started on the homeless.

I feel so strongly about the fat people thing, that I am willing to have my taxes raised to help support the boot camp and jaw wiring procedure, as well as free deodorint for the smelly.

You hear that Ty, I'm willing to have my taxes raised!

[book by Kerry's boat mates to accuse him of self- inflicted injuries in VN]
You've got this, plus the allegations that Kerry staged half the Vietnam-era film they intend to show tonight (and added footage to boot).

I'm beginning to think that Vietnam may ultimately become Kerry's Waterloo.

So, basically, we're in agreement. Really letting yourself go to pot is unacceptable, but reasonable wear and tear is fine. Oh, and your wife sounds like she's got lots of energy... sounds naughty and vain. Good for you.
