Indeed.
Incidentally, this is why we celebrate The Generic Winter Gift-Giving Holiday here at Not Bob & Associates, LLP. That way all our clients are happy with their cards and fruitcake tins -- from Sean O'Malley (the Baptist African-American claims adjuster at Goodhands Insurance who views Christmas as "a holy time that has been degraded by those bastards at the Podunkville Mall") to John Smith (the WASP regional manager of Piggly-Wiggly who goes to Kwanza celebrations with his trophy bride's family) to Roosevelt Washington (she's the estate planning lawyer and referral source who taught the Not Bobette the words to "Hava Nagilla" and "Papa Can You Hear Me?" at last year's shindig).

My old firm has a generic holiday party in early January. A much better way to go.

I think Muslim, Christian and Jew (and everything else...) can join in a rousing chorus of AMEN to that.
(Do Muslims say "Amen?" Probably something like it, if not exactly that, but I'm just guessing -- I'm sure Atticus will weigh in shortly to ease the plague of our collective minds on this burning question. He's helpful that way.)

Now if they can only invent a Generic Winter Gift-Giving Holiday card that doesn't include the same hideous foil-stamped silver dove or smarmy snowy village green with people in cheerful olde tyme garb on it, we'd be happily in business.

Yes, they do.
http://www.free-minds.org/articles/history/amen.htm
"Most of us who have had the privilege of attending a Friday congregation would immediately realize the importance of the word "Amen" or "Aameen" in the life of a traditional Muslim. For those of us who are not familiar with its usage, the Muslims are required to say "Amen" after reciting Surah al-Fatihah and after completion of their prayers (Dua). In fact, this is the only word spoken aloud during a Friday congregation by the traditional Muslims after the Imam completes the recitation of Surah al-Fatihah. The purpose of this article is an attempt to find out it's meaning and trace back its origins in ancient history."

Those geographacist card makers. Discriminating against people who live where it does not snow and trying to make us feel like the generic winter holiday is not intended to include us. I shall alert the ACLU on the BatPhone right now.

Oh, no. We already have authorities on arcane religious ritual. Can't we get a secular authority in here?
P("On the Sabbath, they veg at the kitchen table with a box of donuts and a cup of coffee, reading the Sunday Times and ritually whining "did you take the damn Magazine again?"...")J

Damn straight! What about all the people in the Southern Hemisphere? Huh!?!?
(A friend from New Zealand actually mentioned once how they all had a giggle about Christmas items like wrapping paper and cards having snow and fireplace-huddling themes, when Christmas to them meant... BEACH AND BARBECUE!!!)
