I hope you have found a place that uses "value" billing, not the hourly rate.

You're buying into this? I'll believe he's dead when I see the body and match his teeth with authenticated dental records (authenticated by people who haven't been paid off).

Nah, that'd be just until the coffee shops on Columbus close.
In related news, YouTube captures Italy's training regimen.

Funny. However, during yesterday's game I actually thought that some of the Italian players looked like they had talent.

Mike Tyson was partying it up in the Hamptons for his birthday with all the socialites.

Yes. That looks more like the Portugal training video.
BTW, could Nick Bolliteri please stop training all talented female tennis players to squeak as loud as they can when they hit the ball? The squeal contests have gotten really, really annoying. Maria--just shut up and look good.

There was one time when this German was dribbling in front of the net, trying to shake this Italian defender and he just couldn't shake the guy.

Les Bleus.
Zizou.
One team of flopping whiners down (Portugal), one to go (Italy). Ronaldo dove repeatedly and deserved to be carded for it. Disgraceful theatrics aside, however, he was the most dangerous player on the field. Figo could have equalized late but missed a wide-open net. He should have mock-applauded himself at the end of the game instead of the referee.
Carvalho's penalty leading to Zizou's kick looked justified to me, but I'm not an objective observer.
That is all.

Well, that takes the fun out of watching it on tape tonight.

If it's any consolation, there's also no Santa Claus. Or Jesus.

Sorry -- I didn't realize that anyone would expect a spoiler space or temporary posting moratorium for the results of a high-profile sporting event. What's the protocol on this board for the Super Bowl, the AFC/NFC championship games, the ALCS/NLCS, or the Stanley Cup playoffs?* I seem to remember posts during and after those events. The World Cup is at least as big a deal for 95% of the world population. (Literally--6 billion world population vs. 300 million Americans).
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I didn't realize someone outside a sensory deprivation chamber might not learn of the result within an hour otherwise. My apologies.

I'm surprised one of those left-leaning blogs you frequent didn't already alert you to the celebrations by the cheese-eaters.

I don't remember us having a protocol for those. IIRC, all we have is a history of screaming and rending of hair about disclosing results for selected tennis tournaments.

My office is full of people watching the World Cup on tape delay, so it's understood that you don't talk about it. I assumed that would hold here, though I'm not sure why. U.S. sporting events are more likely to occur when most people aren't working, so there's less need to be careful.
