Well, even without heading down my particular road, I think it improves once at least the first kid is solidly into/ending preschool. It's actually gotten much easier/less a total focus 100% of the time since then.

Note to all parents out there: DO NOT watch Sophie's Choice. Made that mistake earlier this week. Sick to my stomach for an hour after.
what other movies can be stomach churning? kramer vs. kramer? perhaps that is a poor choice...the local news does that for me and the not so local news. 20 kid deaths in Philly. That is very sad.

Mine have an age difference. span of 5 years. it is cute, however to watch the baby try to imitate his older sibling.

Own it. It came out 10/3, I think. An d I think she's a goof, actually. But cute. Just...well, what do you do about the legs fused into a tail thing?

Nope, I'm all about the Indian girl and the Middle Eastern/genie/bellydancer thing. I have the *best* slave anklet (jingly silver thing).

I haven't seen Kramer vs. Kramer in years - I recall its being sad. But Sophie's Choice - have you seen it? Far worse that self-indulgent divorcing adults.

I can't watch anything about kids being hurt anymore - news or otherwise.

That you're so overwhelmingly defined by it. And the diaper-changing, too, unless, apparently, one of your kids is Hank. And the type of their need for attention. THey sort of need less basics attention, constant minding, and then move to needing more substantive stuff, but you have more room to breathe.

once the kids hit early teen Sophie's Choice has a fantasy aspect that is not altogether unpleasant.

While I was wallowing in past posts, I recalled my sticky copy of:

"Dear Ladies whose hammock swings that way and Sperms:

As we’ve discussed the finer points of entertaining men (I missed that discussion - damn) I thought you might find the Four C’s useful in entertaining your women, whether they’re your spouse or a new loafer (hopefully this isn’t a repeat)(do not skip the first two, or you won't be guaranteed of getting to the second two):

1. Caress: Yes! Sounds boring, doesn’t it? But this is one of the most important, sensuous and often most missing things during sex. The whole idea is to get your woman to love herself and her body the way you do – or at least to feel comfortable. That way you’re guaranteed more sex in the long run (ah, see how this works? – long term goals). You’re frequently going to be dealing with a woman who has internally criticized many parts of her body – even if she seems totally confident. The idea here is to set all of those parts on fire through your fingertips and your mouth. Touch her, rub her and kiss her all over – start anywhere, from sucking on her fingers to nibbling her earlobe to running your hands along her entire body, neck to toes. And keep doing this while your making love. If you’ve got a free hand, use it (and no, not on yourself, pervboy). And surprise her – kiss her ankles, nibble her knees, circle around her bellybutton with your tongue. Most importantly make her feel as though you feel passionate about her just by your touch. (And no tongues in the ear, please without asking – well, at least not my ear).

2. Compliment: Another boring one, I know. But again – long (she said) term goals. You don’t have to be a sap or insincere, but one or two fartfelt compliments goes a long way. The idea is to make the woman feel special and love herself. Things that work: I love touching your hair, you have a beautiful body, you’re incredibly sexy, you have the cutest ears, I love when you smile . . . anything. Obviously, compliments can be a total turn-off if they are insincere, if they seem to be ones you keep in your arsenal for all women, or if there are too many. But a couple of meaningful compliments can take you very very far.

3. Cunnilingus. Finally, the good stuff! I can’t offer a tremendous amount here, but some observations. A useful trick is to use your fingers while licking – i.e. get a rhythm going with one or two (or more?) fingers inside her (what we called fingerf*cking in high school) while your using your tongue. Other tricks? Slip your tongue inside her – again, rhythm is nice here. Suck gently whenever you are sucking. And not too much continuous pressure to the same area (the area you think is her clit – but probably isn’t. Did I say that?). And long strokes with your tongue are also a good idea. In sum, fingers, rhythm, variety, and going deep oughtta do ya. Frankly, I find it a huge turn-on when a guy actually looks where he’s going before he goes there, but other women might be uncomfortable with that.

4. Coitus. More goods! Most guys know what they’re doing in this arena, so I’m not going to give too much info. If you are behind her and trying to stimulate her clit, there is one way that works more universally than the normal fumbly bumbly routine (very distracting). If you, with your fingers together, apply pressure to that area in a rhythm consistent with your rhythm (i.e. apply pressure when you enter, release pressure on the way out), that works nicely. Again, other women may feel differently. Rubbing your manhood along her vagina (ha! I said it) in the middle of intercourse feels nice and is sometimes a welcome break if she’s had a couple of orgasms already. And, don’t ignore her breasts during intercourse, if you can concentrate on two things at once. The allover (well at least torso) caress during intercourse also adds a lot of fuel to the fire – as does the intense look into her eyes or the well placed nibble or kiss. Again, varying rhythm, speed and position work well in most instances. Also, it’s nice to ask if you can put on a condom instead of just whipping it out of the drawer. If youÂ’re lucky and she’s like me, she may just put it on you – with her mouth.
