Maybe tape-delayed or internationally-played events deserve some slack because of the time zone difference.
I mean, someone out there might not know that Federer bzzzt...beep...[crackle]...[hiss].

God, I miss her.
And, I must say, it was really more of a wailing and gnashing of teeth.

No CupCast at your desk -- muted streaming video on one monitor and blogged play-by-play on the other? And no TV in the break room tuned to the match?
I think we work at different firms....

You're too kind, chevy.
At any rate, this reminds me that I forgot to compose a Hockey Haiku (tm) in honor of the Captain's retirement. (This one's for you, Hank!) Here goes:
Stevie Y steps down
if Little Ceasar had class
no "C" worn next year

What's the protocol on this board for the Super Bowl, the AFC/NFC championship games, the ALCS/NLCS, or the Stanley Cup playoffs?* I seem to remember posts during and after those events. The World Cup is at least as big a deal for 95% of the world population. (Literally--6 billion world population vs. 300 million Americans).
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I didn't realize someone outside a sensory deprivation chamber might not learn of the result within an hour otherwise. My apologies.

I think anyone trolling the board can expect real-time comments. How could someone turn on a computer without knowing the winner?
I thought that the penalty kick was a legit call. One of the few I have seen.

if you look at PB you know that Ty reads blogs that basically tell him everything- example: the behind the scenes secret convos in the oval office- how the fuck would he not know the World Cup score?

huh? MM wasn't always in the same time zone let alone team- Yzerman is THE....
Which is a lesson Ben Wallace might realize in a few years- and yes I'm bummed- I'm happy the guy got his paycheck but there wasn't that much difference in the offers, PLUS he was getting national ads lately and he won't as part of an also ran team.
Are the cell phone ads with Ben Wallace being late to walk on the court national? there is a feel that maybe the company does one for each market- other towns-did you see Ben in that commercial?
And is Lebron pissed, or was Cleveland just completely capped?

Good point. I suspected that Malkin's time delay held some real bonuses for you.

Yes, Ben was on in LA, and not Corey or Lamar.
