Don't make me get a dictionary definition here. Simply, he is no more opposed to gay marriage than a pedophile is to molesting children. John Kerry is all for gay.

Why, then, are presumably rational, self-interested profit-maximizers spending $$$ on sending these messages?

Does the answer to this question depend on what the definition of "opposed" is? Because the evidence is clear that 1.)he says he's opposed, 2.)but is in fact opposed to opposing it and in favor of allowing it to be legalized.
He's opposed to gay marriage, but thinks it should be an issue for the states, not the federal government. Are you saying that you don't understand a dedication to federalism?

If you begin by saying you don't believe what he says and will determine what he means without listening to him, it is possible to conclude that he means just about anything.

Listen to the man. He is not advocating that gay marriage come to a state near you; very much, unfortunately, the opposite.

OK, this is both objectively wrong and borderline offensive (in the parallel, however intended, between homosexuality and pedophilia).

Am I alone, or does Bush's wife look to anyone else like she has about three brain cells careening around a very large empty skull? Why in the hell does the press laud someone like her as having "class" just because she's quiet? And why do they call his mom the "Silver Fox"? Jesus Christ... thats false advertising along the lines of "Twinkies! The ultimately cholestrol lowering health food!" "Fox"?! "Fox"?! She's silver, but she's more of a silver shar-pei than a silver fox. Lets be a little fucking honest here. The woman is a tad past her prime, and if you think "fox" is a nod to her rapier wit, listen to her speak. She's not clever. She's a creepy old WASP. Her blood is two parts gin; one part ice water.

And enough with the fucking Bush nicknames. If I have to hear "poppy", "pappy", "Bar Bar" or any more of the media-consultant-created nicknames cynically puked on the press to give a homey feel to this clan of malevolent terminally-greedy connivers, I'm going to vomit blood. These people are as real as the Kennedys. Calling Kerry fake next to the "real" Bushes is just absurd.

I misinterpreted. I thought he was referencing Bush's courting of the Roman Catholic vote with the pederast reference.

So he's more opposed to a large and intrusive federal government than he is to gay marriage? Somebody better tell the democratic party about the possible implications, as the Great Society people are gonna be pissed!

In other news, is the following a freakin joke or something: On the news section of Yahoo's front page right now:

No. No he's not. He has said, and you should support him on this, that he favors STATES having the right to decide the issue, but that there should be no Constiitutional Amendment on it. And he's right. It is a state issue. And when its rightly left under state control, we will not only have a religious chasm between states, we'll also have a taste chasm.

You right leaning bastards are going to force me to fly somewhere to get a good decorator. Thanks.

This is borderline political correctness. And Watchtower must be standing over my shoulder, because I actually had to erase the reference to Catholic priests to make the statement more offensive to more people.
